Can you believe I work on Websites for a living and I can 't even keep up with my own blog? You know what they say about a plumber...he has the leakiest pipes!

Just finished up my niece's bridal shower gift this afternoon/evening. Just in time, because the shower is Saturday. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. The white fabric has tonal snowflakes that catch the light. The ice blue is a Fairy Frost fabric. The outer border is white with silvery airbrushed-like snowflakes. I'm not all that "into" sparkly, but I think she'll like it and it was a good way to use up some unusual fat quarters. I really drug my feet on whether or not to turn it… Continue

Sorry everyone, I've been a bit absent for a couple of weeks - I've been finalizing the sale of one house and the purchase of another. I know you know that song and dance! I'm happy to report I'm in my new home today, completely surrounded by piles of boxes. Boy, do I have a lot of fabric! The nice young men that helped unload asked about my sewing room and what I did there. I said since quilting was my business, I had a built in excuse to have a lot of fabric. One of the guys said "looks like… Continue

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I have the bird in the sink full of cold water thawing out. I found a new brine receipe. I have a new gravy receipe. Around my house this behavior is referred to as "experiments in terror". We vote to keep, not to keep, or the dreaded--we better order some pizza.
My best friend, also a quilter, and her husband will come for dinner. We split the cooking and the leftovers. This is the first year in 25 years that none of our children will be here. Happily,… Continue

Got the wild turkey open...I have found that it makes everything taste better and I (in my own mind) think I'm a great cook! I plan to pass drinks out and shots of the turkey before dinner so everyone else agrees!!! Seriously, I'm thankful for many things in my life and one of them is having a wonderful group of friends to share life with...have a blessed holiday!

Wishing everyone a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Enjoy the food and company on this wonderful day. What more could one ask for other than more time to sew. :)

Just want to wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVEN. Enjoy every moment of it. I sure missed that a lot as we here in my country don't celebrate it.

This summer I made 6 sock monkeys and 6 chenille baby quilts to be sold (by my dad) at a show my sister does in her house every November. The show was last weekend and Saturday night I got a call saying that my sister was monkeyless! Apparently, everyone really thought that they were cute and I could have sold more of them. I also sold 2 quilts...making this a very successful show for me. The other 3 quilts (my dad is keeping one for a baby gift) will be sent to me in the near future and next… Continue

Well, this one isn't exactly a Christmas gift and I didn't make it... I just added a couple of things to it. I can't remember if I blogged about my youngest daughter (the one who lives in Wyoming) hitting a golden eagle on her way to work one morning last week. Actually, it flew into the front of her truck and damaged the grill. It died; she felt so bad, even though it wasn't her fault.
Later on that day, I went on to ebay to see if I could find a small stuffed eagle and found one... not a… Continue

Our Favorite Things
Bright sunny weather,
And Santa resting,
Scent of fresh pine,
Shoppers in line,
Good friends to greet,
With sentiments sweet,
Turkey and dressing,
Asking the blessing...
These are the things
That make our hearts sing
When November is here
And December is near!

Since your are wondering about the quilt....google "crown royal quilts" and you will get an eye full. I even found a chair that was re-done with crown royal bags. Just the thought of it was scarry but the chair didn't look that bad. Anyway, it's a struggle to know what to do. Each bag is different..... in size, in where the gold stitching is, and the Crown Royal words are all over the place. I ended up making a template 4-1/4" by 5-1/2" to get the most out of the bag. I drew a rectangle on the… Continue

It's rare for DH and I to get a day off where we don't have something we absolutely have to do (such as deal with car repairs, house repairs, sick DD, etc). DD has school today, so most of the day we will have to ourselves. DH is planning to bake pies today to take to his DM's for Thanksgiving. It's not that I can't bake, it's just that he enjoys it so much more than I do (at least that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it). I've been given permission to go play in my sewing room while he bakes… Continue

This was the worse day that I have had in a long time. First I had a doctors appointment and he was not happy that I was still having a problem with my bowels. Now back to the Merilax, stool softeners, and now he has added yougart 2 times a day. Told me not to go off of anything until I saw him in 3 months. I am set for a EDG December 8th. This is because I have Barretts Syndrome, which is a precurser to cancer.
Next I had the deposition on a work comp claim I handled 6 years ago.… Continue

Ok, this made me laugh so hard I almost fell off my chair. Maybe it's gone around a hundred times, but just the same, enjoy!
To CT staff - if you think it's offensive, feel free to remove it.
One Sunday morning, a priest decided to do something a little different.
He said, 'Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to
help me preach. Whatever single word I say, I want you to sing whatever hymn that comes to your mind."
