This year is ending and the new year is beginning the moment the old year ends. That's the way life is---just when we think something is ending, something new is beginning. I'm with my son in Arizona just where I was last year, but a whole 365 days have come and gone inbetween my visits. Looking out his windows I see catus and sand and palm trees---a much different scene than I would see from my windows in North Dakota. This year my town (Grand Forks) got 24 1/2 inches of… Continue

As we say good-bye to 2009 I thought I'd share the view out my sewing room window today. It started snowing about 10am and didn't stop until 4pm. I hope you all enjoy this last night of 2009. I look forward to blogging with you in 2010!
Blessings and Hugs to all.

I ran home and took a couple of pics of the block that I was thinking of working on. Mind you, I only have the blocks cut, this is not sewn at all. So I can change up the pattern or the block arrangement. Anyway, I have thought about doing single colored blocks and making rows of alternating colored blocks, changing up the pattern etc. I'm just not sure. After I took the pic and was working to upload them to the computer at home and then get them on the flash drive to bring them… Continue

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her, She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling.. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a… Continue

Happy New Year's eve! It is hard to believe we have been part of CT's great site for almost a year. I remember how curious I was went I first signed up and then got hooked on the place, the people, the quilts. Now you are all friends and neighbors--we share a common obsession with fabric and making things of it. I'm stunned when I look at all the pictures of quilts, wallhanging, table runners, ornaments, clothes and everything else. We are all held together by thread.
I watched the… Continue

December is all but gone for another year and for us, it's been a good year with many positive things. I found this site last Jan. and have sure enjoyed making new quilting friends and seeing all the beautiful quilts. I see quilts that I wouldn't even want to try, because they look like a picture and are absolutely gorgeous, stunning and amazing.
I've been able to meet 1 new friend in Spokane, WA and that was so much fun to actually see her in person. Thanks, CT for the wonderful… Continue

I finally got my baby to sit still for some photos of her new coat, but she thought I was fussing at her, so her ears are down. She thinks she is in trouble, but she did pose for me! Check out My Page! Carol

I am sooooo looking forward to this
New Year. It will be the first one in 12 years that we don't have a big, huge, wild party planned. From high school years to college years our son's have always had parties here. Between paper streamers stabled to the ceiling every 10 inches to confetti to food to 40 bodies sleeping over I never looked forward to the aftermath each year. Last year I think I was still cleaning up confetti in June. I also found a few staples in the ceiling when putting… Continue

The sun is shining; the snow is still clean and sparkly as I look out the window; all the family is healthy and happy; friends are coming for dinner; God is in His heaven and holds me in His hands. Is there a better way to end the year and start a new one? Well, there is the small detail of having a quilt to work on and lots of others running around your mind wanting to be started, or maybe even finished! May all of you have a blessed new year, and may your quilts be many.
I took my… Continue

I guess I will add my New Year greetings for today, also. I hope everyone out there has a wonderful 2010. We seemed to get through 2009 successfully and I am sure 2010 will fly by. Best wishes to you all.
I can genuinely say there is a lot of love in my heart for you all.

We had another 3+ inches of snow on top of the 10+ we got on Christmas. I haven't seen this much snow in our area since I was in high school. I wished I felt like getting out and enjoying it. Of course if you take the fact that I will be 66 in 2010 and that I have been sick for the past 7 days you probably would feel the same as me.
We are doing better. My dh is doing better than me. I am still having trouble breathing and coughing like there is no tomorrow. The coughing is keeping… Continue

Good morning! I've been going through my daily "quilt show" - the slide show of quilts on the main page and I just have one thing to say: you are all so amazing! The talent and heart and creativity in each one is impressive. I'm inspired all over again. Thanks for sharing your quilts with us, and thanks CT for creating a web site where it is all available. It gives this fairly reclusive country gal an opportunity to see quilt projects and "meet" quilters I've never otherwise have the chance.

I really look forward to this day...the old year about to close and a new one opening to all possibilities. 2009 was a wonderful year for me...A new grandson, born on the fourth of July, parents celebrating 60 yrs. and healthy...and getting my new lease on life through technology(computer prosthetics)...don't get me wrong...we have had our bumps along the way...but as a whole it was a great year. Looking forward to making more new friends on this site and learning more about our passion. Thank… Continue

As I look back on 2009, I am thankful for many things. One of them is finding this website. I enjoy reading the daily blogs and seeing pictures of all the beautiful quilting projects. (I must admit, there have been times that after looking at the various projects, I have been insprired to jump up and head up to my sewing room instead of doing other work!) Thank you all for the positive comments and inspiration you have given me. I hope 2010 is a happy, productive and prosperous year for one and… Continue

All righty now, last & final sequel until this puppy is done & over with , you know, 10 years from now? I have the border just tossed there, it is not joined. I also will have a few circles & leaves to add at each end once it is joined. I saw no reason to be doing work I would have to frog so I left the ends a teeny bit shy of done.
I really don't get compensation from CT for touting their fabric ( :) just so you know!) but may I say that this has ALL been made with CT… Continue
