What was your favorite Christmas or Hanukkah gift as a child?

We had the grandsons this weekend, and we are dragging!!!! lol The topic came up, what was your favorite gift.  Mine was this gorgeous bride doll. I cherished her...she went everywhere with me. Hubby's was his first BB gun.

The question today is...tell us about your favorite toy!

The difference between a gift and a present...

A gift is something you want the person to have.

A present is something they want and you bought it for them.

Moving...time to hand sew

Wow, has it really been over 6 months since I last wrote a post?  This year has just flown by, and now it's time to up stakes and move.  Over my life time I've moved 14 times and it seems they have all been different in some way or another.  If you're wondering, yes, I married a military man.  Today has been a long exhausting day as it is the eve of our scheduled pack-out.  Exhausted because for the last few weeks I've been setting aside everything I need for the next 6 weeks including…

A Christmas story (I'd like to forget)

We bought a new car this past summer. We didn't notice it didn't have mud guards on it. I would've made that part of the deal(darn). So, yesterday we drove down to the local garage to have them installed. When I went to get into hubby's toyota truck, we discovered I couldn't get my knee under the dash. I had not been in it since I got the new knee. Soooo, stop laughing...we get the bright idea... I should ride in the back of the pickup! If, I were 5 that would have been heaven. We only live…

This year's go to gift...

When I'm trying to think of something special to make for someone, this is this year's choice.  This is the one I made for my DIL.  It is the Victorian Table Runner from Southwind Designs.…

The newest grandson (#3) - 5 months old today.

This was taken last week - he's all bundled up helping Grandpa feed the calves.  DS's house is surrounded by pasture, but the calves are fenced out of their yard.  …

Calling all QUILTERS...

Good morning-

I hope everyone is busy getting those holiday projects finished! BUT...let's take the time to post a message! We are a wonderful group of ladies and gents who share a passion. QWU has given us a site to share and make new friends. We don't want to lose this site...apathy has done that to many. I was off the site for a few months, but am so glad to be reunited with friends near and far.

So, ladies and gents let's hear from you...It doesn't have to be all about…

Inner quilt arguments...

...or why it takes me so long to accomplish anything.

I'm working on a long-overdue quilt back - piecing it from scraps, which seems to be the latest "thing" in the quilting world.  Hey, I'm all about saving money and using up scraps, which, in theory, is supposed to thin out one's stash.  However, for my somewhat Type A self, this requires me to exercise the creative side of my brain AND combine it with my  nemesis - math.  Both challenging.  So in my world, this is akin to…

Dec. 5 - Preparing to celebrate Christmas

Having a Spirit Led week, are you?

Yesterday morning got away from me.

Saturday Nov. 24th, Sean and Ryan got over here bright and early to hang the outside lights on the house.  My husbands' medication causes dizziness and faintness, so he does not need to be on a ladder.  Saturday afternoon, I got our little artificial tree up and decorated.  Yeah!

I finished the 2 charity blanket throws.  I hope to get them delivered tomorrow.  …

This santa is done with holiday sewing...

We have been having unseasonable weather. Hard to stay home to get sewing done. Have all the shopping done, now comes the wrapping part. ugh, not my favorite part. The grandsons are getting older, so not as many gifts to wrap.

Our youngest grandson(8) loves army toys and especially helicopters. We bought him the biggest toy helicopter we could find with soldiers. This is his quilt.…
