Good morning ladies-
I always look forward to a new year...mainly because we will be leaving for two and half months to Fl. It is a time for reflection and planning. Last year was good... but we lost dear friends and family members. We all know how difficult that is. Hoping this year will just be quiet and without so much drama in our lives as well as the world.
We are spending New Years stripping out three rooms of our house. Have contractors in while we are gone to upgrade…

It has been a long time since I posted here. Life got away from me. I'll have to try and check in more often. Since the last time I was here I have started selling Accuquilt products and have been having a great time doing that. I am also in the process of trying to start a website so I can sell some crafts and material. Hopefully I will get it figured out soon.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and will have a Wonderful New Year.

Where does the time go? It's hard to believe that Christmas is over. We, along with a lot of other States got plenty of snow on Christmas Day. Ours is light and fluffy but it kept the men busy keeping it plowed.
I had a quiet Christmas with just my son and his girlfriend coming for dinner.
My head is swirling with all the projects I want to work on the rest of the Winter. I got a couple of Christmas books with patterns that I would like to make.
Enjoy the rest of…

Good morning and Merry Christmas-
We opened our gifts last evening with the grandsons! They are definitely entertaining! They seemed to like their quilts but when there are toys to play with.....
We are getting blowing snow and dropping temps. Enjoy your day!…

I want to wish all of my QWU friends a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2018. We woke up to snow here in Mid-Missouri this morning so we will have a white Christmas after all.

As I made some bias binding this afternoon, I was thinking it was somewhat tedious and awkward, but rather satisfying as I'm cutting (with scissors, even) what seems like miles and miles of binding. That a smallish piece of fabric can just go on forever is rather mind boggling.
And as it turns out, I have about 100 inches more than what I need! How did that happen? Since I'm mathematically challenged, I used a chart. It said for x inches of binding cut at x width, I'd need 2/3 of…

I am keeping a close eye on the weather. We are supposed to fly out on Saturday. Each time I check the long range forecast the thing changes. It is looking probable that there will be ice, snow and subzero temperatures.
That's here. And we will be flying into more of the same kind of thing. Maybe we will have a white Christmas. (It could wait until we all get to our destinations)
On the quilting front, I am binding the second "good deed" quilt. After this, I am going to…

I am so proud of myself. I actually started and finished a holiday/winter quilt all in the same year! LOL This design is called Holiday Redwork by The Stitch Connection, but I'm calling mine Winter Wonderland. It is now hanging in my family room. Since it has winter motifs as well as Christmas ones, I'm going to leave it up until the end of January. You can see the reflection of my Christmas tree in my tv screen next to it. …

It's hard to believe that Christmas is just day's away. This will be a busy week. Cooking and attending Christmas events. I'm in the church choir and we have been practicing the Christmas Cantata for Christmas Eve. My son John and his girlfriend will be coming for Christmas dinner. Here's wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hi all! Hope you didn't fall down when you saw a post from me. Yes, it has been a while.
This has been a year of change. In the summer we learned that the lodges (where we work) were going up for sale, either all together, which would mean a business deal, or individually for personal use. That left us a bit up in the air. With some other things that have gone on we felt it was time for a change for us. We did a lot of praying and talking and both felt we were being led to a…

My nephew & niece recently relocated to AZ. Thought it would be nice to gift them a festive table runner as they will be hosting Christmas Day dinner for their parents and new…

I also made four scrap quilts this year. If you coordinate just a little with color, the quilt comes out very nice. I plan on sewing the extra pieces from the four quilts into a totally scrappy quilt as scraps never seem to…

Greetings Quilting Friends! I can't believe it is almost a year ago that I posted! That wasn't the plan for 2017. It has been a busy year; retirement to make elder care & elder dog care easier as well as a few other roller coaster events. Even though there has been much care giving this year, I am happy (and…

We went to town today and saw some neighbors at the restaurant. The wife is retiring from teaching at the local ag college and my mouth engaged before my brain. I said something like, "Hey, didn't I see where you were retiring? When's the big party?" Aaaaand that's when my brain caught up with me. The party was to be a surprise. Her husband redirected well and we just went on, but I'm still MORTIFIED that I spilled the beans. (She's a sharp gal. It won't take her long to figure it…

Isn't that the case most of the time during the holidays, running behind. I was able to deliver the charity blanket throws last week.
On Saturday a church in another town runs what they call "Mobile Santa'. What that is a a travel trailer hauled by a pickup. The trailer is all decked out with Christmas lights. They set up specific stops in area towns, so that families can come see Santa. Anyway, one of the stops this year was one block away from our home. When I found…
