I just love Connecting Threads!! I think their fabric and patterns are wonderful!! I have made several Connecting Threads quilts and love them all. I posted a picture of Connecting Thread’s Wildflower Garden Quilt. I couldn’t see myself appliquéing over 300 leaves so I embroidered them instead. I gave the quilt to my parents on Christmas. I loved it so much that I decided to make one for myself!…

My husband and I arrived in Arizona on Sunday after spending Christmas with our children/grandchildren in Wisconsin - and are we glad to be back in the sunshine and warm weather! He had enough snow shoveling to last a lifetime in the 10 days we were there this year!
It's back to quilting for the winter. Once those Christmas quilts are all given out, I have the rest of the winter to work on some UFOs, etc. that I need to get back to :-) My goal for the last 2-1/2 years is to work off… Continue

Today has been a good sewing day for me!!! One of my goals for 2009 is to finish my Civil War Love Letters quilt! I already had all of the blocks finished (121 of them) and I had a couple of rows sewn together. Here is a photo of the first row, take a couple of months ago!
Even though I still do not have it finished, I have more of it done! The quilt has a total of 11 rows with 11 blocks in each. I now have 8 rows sewn together!!!… Continue

It's a new year and although I really enjoyed the holidays, I'm glad it's over. Time for new projects and my sewing room is calling me. Along with my personal projects, I also teach classes at a local sewing shop so I'm getting my samples ready for the upcoming classes. It's hard to decide what to do first but I'm sure I'll figure it out once I get into my sewing room.

I spent some time as a Ravelry member, and I was pretty much run out of there, though I wasn't the only quilter there using the site. Anyway, I'm so glad there's finally a site for quilters! Yay! I was so excited when I got the email from Connecting Threads! When are the Project Pages coming? ;-)

Happy New Year...my resolution this year is to finish some UFO's and use up a bit of my stash. I am finishing off some table runners I started earlier in December - I recommend the Little Charmers III pattern to anyone who wants a fun, quick table runner. There are 3 different variations included and they all use charm squares or you can quickly cut the pieces from scraps you have. I used some Audrey's Kitchen charm squares in one, and with the left overs coordinated with some of my own stash… Continue

Not sure how to really go about doing this, but since everyone else is I thought I would. I've only been quilting for a couple of years and don't do anything fancy even though I would like too. Guess I want to make sure I have the time to actually do a fancy quilt so that it doesn't get put off to the side and forgotten about. All I make right now are lap/crib size quilts for family and friends. I do enjoy buying the material and have plenty to use along with all kinds of books and magazines… Continue

Decided to start the new year out trying something new. This looked like fun. I love to quilt but haven't put one together for a long time. I tend to be a procrastinator and an unfinisher person! There is always hope right? So...I'm hoping this blog will inspire me and keep me on task so I can have a show-and-tell with my online quilting friends!!
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!!
I think Connecting Threads is so Awesome to arrange this site for all of us die hard quilters to get together and get to know one another...ask questions...share...etc. I have been quilting for 4 years and I'm a Quilt-a-holic which also makes me a Fabri-holic. I have several projects in the works...can't ever just have one!!! I'm working on a Wizard of Oz block of the month quilt, I belong to a Thimbleberries club and also another block of the month club. Cute quilting quotes (say that ten times fast!) that I found online recently:
Blessed are the piece makers.
Blessed are the children of piece makers...for they shall inherit the quilts.
Good friends are like Quilts.
They age with you, yet never lose their warmth.
I am a quilter and my house is in pieces.
I keep my end tables full of needlework and quilting so I… Continue

OMG, teach me for leaving my computer for 24 hours. We left to celebrate New Year's Eve with friends and when I came back WOW the number that have signed on to this site is totally amazing. I would like to get to know everyone, so while I like to spend most of my time quilting, I am resolving to spend a few minutes each day learning about everyone by reading their blogs. I have just spent a wonderful couple of days with friends that we have celebrated every New Year's Eve with since 1972 as… Continue

Wishing everyone a wonderful sewing and quilting new year. I love to quilt and being in a quilt shop or fabric shop is about the best way I can spend an afternoon. I enjoy taking classes at our local quilt shops. We are fortunate to have four shops within a ten mile range. I'm starting a quilt for my 18 year old granddaughter in reds. This is her favorite color and her Grandpa is painting her room red. I look forward to visiting with everyone and sharing ideas.

I'm new here and I think I'm really going to love this site! I have already started my New Years resolution by organizing my sewing room and lining up my UFO's, it's so nice and neat and clean! Hope everyone had a great New Year's and may your quilting projects bring you peace and comfort this New Year!

I joined just a few days ago & haven't posted until now. I wanted to wish every one a Happy New Year, health & prosperity in the coming year.
I live in the cold NW Illinois and now that the holidays are over I am looking forward to some serious quilting.
This seems to be a very nice group of quilters & I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.

The block that I'm using as my profile photo is one for which I've been trying to locate a pattern. Can't remember where I saw it, but there was no identifying info about it.
I've never tried to draw out a pattern, but this might force me to try.
Can anyone help?

Help!!! With all these great posts it just might cut into my quilting time?
Now I'm great at multitasking, butI don't think reading post and quilting can be done at the same time!
Which shall I do? Anyone else facing this"problem"?

Hi everyone! I got my blog in the wrong spot and don't know how to move it so I am doing another one. I have only been quilting since 2001 and I have completed about 50 quilts and I have another 6or 8 UFOs, I am very methodical and like to complete one project before I start another! I particularly like the Bargellos but I can not just choose fabric and go from there. I need a pattern to follow. I know there are some of you who can just choose fabric and go with it! I have been sending out my… Continue

Since this is the beginning of a New Year and I just retired in December, I am looking forward to making a lot of things, wallhangings, table runners, pillows, quilts, etc. and I'm also going to try my hand at incorporating machine embroidery into some of my things. I have already tried embroidering small Christmas things, a snowman, a roly-poly santa, to put into picture frame ornaments. So, I hope all of you have a wonderful year and hopefully we'll be able to inspire each other and quilt,… Continue
