Can't have too many quilting groups!

Good Morning. I'm happy to see a new message board at this site .... especially one where there seems to be lots of pictures. Love it! Looking forward to talking about my favorite subject and the show and tell. Last night I finished the top of a Christmas table runner. A bit late for this year, but I'll be all set for next year as soon as it is machine quilted. The fabrics I chose I believe are "timeless" so it will look fresh next Christmas too. Then I'm ready for the New Year and a new… Continue

Just Joined!

Hi everyone!

I live 30 miles South of Springfield, IL and just retired Dec. 19th. I hope to have a lot more time to quilt, sew, machine embroider, etc. I love making things to give to people. It will be nice to know when I have questions, like problems I had working with Minkee and no one to ask, that I can come here and as the questions.

I look forward to talking to all of you and I hope to be able to take time each morning to sign on and see how you all are doing.

Yet Another Newbie

Good Morning! I'm a newbie this morning too. I'm technically challenged enough that I have downloaded the same picture twice to my profile. Other than that, I think that I'm doing ok. I'm much better at starting new projects than I am at finishing them and try to work on everything at the same time. I wish I could be a better finisher.

Right now I'm finishing some log cabins to go with the sampler blocks that I made this past year from a BOM at my LQS. I also belong to a Nearly Insane… Continue

New to the Group

I am new to the site. I am 47 years young and have been quilting since 2001. I love traditional patterns and paper piecing as well as Machine embroidery.

My coworkers all laugh because you can tell what stressful year it has been by the number of quilts I have made.

I am looking forward to sharing ideas on the site.

Another newbie

Hi - my name is Robin and I live in Napa California. I have been quilting for 9 years although I wanted to for years before that. I serve as secretary for the Napa Valley Quilters.

My other hobby is dollhouse miniatures and I work in 1/4 1nch scale, that's 1 foot equals quarter inch.

Am looking forward to participating in this new group.

first timer also

Yes, just joined on impulse. Love quilting but not sure how much time I have in next two months to try out this site. Thanks for the opportunity, I dont get out much due to watching my grandchildren, arthritis, and finding time to sew!

My kids signed me up for Facebook (???) - dont actually feel compeled to check it much. However, my son who is going to someplace in Middle East (Iraq or ??) said all the military personnel use it, so maybe I will do so more when family moves out of my home… Continue

Another Newbie

Hi everyone! My name is Laurie and I'm a 54 yr old quilter and retired (disabled) RN. I started quilting in 2002, a year after I had to quit working because of my medical issues. I consider myself a pretty confident beginner. I LOVE Connecting Threads and spend a lot of money on the website! Still have many kits that I've purchased that are waiting to be done. I am thrilled to be a member of their online community and look forward to getting to know all of you! I am in western NY state, halfway… Continue

New to group

I just joined this group and have not done a blog before though I do occasionally post on some online long arm quilting groups I belong to. I have lived in the Quad Cities IL area for 33 years and am truly addicted to quilting. Recent snow melts, rain and a slightly wet quilting studio have me cleaning and reorganizing instead of quilting this week so it seemed a good time to take a break and meet some new friends. I am looking forward to checking out the groups and especially the UFO… Continue

Happy holidays

This is the first time I've ever posted anything online. I've just moved to the Quad Cities of Illinois-Iowa to be close to my daughter's family and to start a new job. I know no one else here yet and am hoping I can connect with other quilters, both online and in the area.

I just recieved an email about this site and decided that I should join! I am coming out of a 2 year rest from Quilting and stitching and decided that in 2009 I am going to spark up my machine! I have been Quilting since 1999 when I was working at a local fabric store and got bit by the bug! LOL!! I love rich tones and more of the traditional patterns, but I am open to other… Continue

Happy Quilting in 2009

Happy New Year and Happy Quilting From Texas. It's certainly not snowing in deep southeast Texas but we did have a very rare 4" of the white stuff about 3 weeks ago...shut 1/2 the city of Houston down as we cannot drive on ice. LOL.
Looking forward to creating more quilts in '09.
Happy Stitching to ALL

New to blogging

Hi everyone. I honestly can't say I am snowed in. I am in sunny South Carolina where on Christmas it was a whole 75 degrees! This is my very first blogging experience. I have read all the ones in here and it has made me want to join a wonderful group like this. I love to quilt and sew. I have finished several tops this year, and my goal this coming year is to get them all quilted. I sewed something for just about everyone on my Christmas list this… Continue

Canada eh!

Just now have joined this site. WOW, I am so glad. I am just newly semi-retired (meaning, when money runs out, back to work LOL) This is the first Christmas season in almost 40 years that I have had the luxury of time to prepare, it has been quite unstressfull. According to the weather channel, it is the first time since 1971 that Canada has experienced a white Christmas coast to coast. It was truly beautiful. And hubby gets use of his snow blower hehe.

Now that I have some time I hope to… Continue

New here from Indiana

Hello, and so glad to be joining this group! I'll add pictures soon, but just wanted to jump in! I live in Fort Wayne, and we just had an ice storm that took power out for 1/4 of our city. We live in the county area and were fortunate to only lose power for a few hours, versus many of our friends were out for a week! We have had a melt down now, single digit temperatures one day, and then almost 70 the next. So, things are back to normal 30's and 20's now, with some snow thrown in. I co-own a… Continue

snow snow everywhere

We have snow here too, though some of it melted, we are supposed to get more tomorrow and even more on Friday night. Fine with me, I have plenty of sewing to keep me busy.

So glad to have this site!

I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's work & sharing my own! We are snowed in & I plan on working on a pile of UFOs while I'm stuck in the house! We have so much snow the cattle guards are full of snow & the calves are walking right over them & escaping into the hay yard! This is my first completed UFO as of… Continue

New Year

I am looking forward to a new year with a fresh start on finishing in-progress projects and starting new ones. I have joined Karens UFO group and I think this will help me to get organized and keep on track. One project I recently finished was the ruffled onesie for Melissa's baby shower (I work… Continue
