My first post

I'm going to set the tone right now for blogging. I've told all of our quilting staff that they need to try to keep their posts sort of quilting related, but I tend to not follow my own rules (bad Karen, bad!). Instead of quilting, I'll start off by welcoming you to my office, freshly decorated for Christmas.

I have so many decorations for my office that I keep them on a pallet at work instead of dragging them home every year. We are open the day after Thanksgiving and I always use… Continue

Happy Holidays! The best is yet to come

I'm so excited to share my tiny little piece of the quilting world with all of you. As the holiday season approaches, I look forward to a new year and new motivation to get my many unfinished projects done. Because heaven knows it's not going to happen before Christmas! Hi, My name is Teri and I'm a Quilter

Up until recently if people asked me if I quilted I'd always say yes but I'm just a beginner. The other day someone asked me if I quilted and I just said yes. Maybe it's because I've given a few of my quilts away as gifts now or even that I made a quilt and a friends asked if it was easy and I said yes - but I wouldn't do it as a beginner. Whatever it was something happened and I became a full fledged quilter in my… Continue

Sobering Thoughts on Past Tornadoes

Kansas made the news this last Saturday with over 100 tornadoes spotted on the ground or by radar. The approaching bad weather—thanks to modern technology—was forecasted both well in advance and during the tornado outbreaks.

We knew exactly when to go to our tornado shelter because of the radio announcer’s commentary on the paths of the three tornadoes…
