Hello everyone and Happy New Year from Minnesota. It was -6 degrees this morning when I left for work. I've never blogged before so hopefully this works. My name is Jill and I've been quilting for about 8 years. I have many works in progress; all different types of quilts. I've lately been knitting as well so now have a stash of fabric and a stash of yarn. My husband retired in March and thank goodness he has hobbies so I don't feel bad retreating to my quilt area from time to time. Currently… Continue

I rarely join in on this sort of thing but I love Connecting Thread's products and catalogs so I decided to make an exception this time. I look forward to sharing quilting and sewing experiences with the rest of you. I hope you all have a fantastic 2009 and make lots of quilts.

What a fun way to start a new year. I have been quilting for about 16 years. I was a sewer before that which was handy since I had 3 daughters to dress. I live in Santa Maria, California and belong to a quilt guild and a friendship group. It is so wonderful to be sisters of the cloth with so many. I have purchased many kits from CT and have been pleased with the product. I have a fortune cookie fortune from a few years ago. It says "You will retire in material wealth". I did!!!!!!!!! Happy… Continue

What a wonderful way to start the new year by connecting with other quilters.
I have been quilting on and off for 20 years but havent' been serious until recently. I am looking forward to connecting with all of you and learning from you all.
I am from Abbotsford British Columbia in Canada - Abbotsford is just outside of Vancouver. It is neat to see that everyone else is from different parts of the continent - I have only discovered CT within the last year - what a wonderful place to… Continue

Hi, I just joined. Hope to learn a lot from all of you. I live in the four corners area of the USA. I don't have a blog so don't know if I am doing this right. Happy New Year to every one and hope it is better than 2008. Continue

What a nice site to start the New Year. I'm Judy from South Carolina but sitting in the cold weather of Ohio with my children for the holidays but happy to go home on Saturday. I love quilting and just finished a civil war quilt for my honey. It's called Women's Voices and what a beautiful quilt when it was fininshed. I have to sew the binding to the back and will be done. I am looking forward to this site and group. Best wishes to everyone for 2009 and happy quilting.

Hi everyone, I'm Victoria from Michigan and I look forward to getting to know everyone! I have been learning to quilt for about 8 years. I love applique work and designing my own patterns. I prefer to hand quilt and I am learning to machine quilt. I have been sewing since I was about 7 and I would make clothes for my barbie dolls from old scraps of fabric and any worn out clothes I could sneak from my mom's rag bag.

Just joined! What a neat site! So glad CT did this. It's been fun to watch them grow! I made my first log cabin quilt out of CT's first "Irresistible Indigos" line... That line sold out before the magazines with the ads for it ever hit the shelves! Truth be told, I've been buying from CT long time before they started their own fabric lines... Anyhow, going to go check out more of this site, and of course, go quilting! Looking forward to 2009!

Hi to all. What a great site, and I was so excited this morning when upon checking my email that Connecting Threads has started this new endeavor. I am a 47 year old wife, mother, and grandmother from Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. It is interesting to read all the posts and see how quilting excites others' as it does me. I am a newbie, just getting started. The company I have worked for for 18 years is closing it's doors; and I have decided to take some "me" time and enjoy by grandchildren and… Continue

Hi, I am brand new to blogging and new to the group. Thank you Connecting Threads for setting this up. I have been quilting and beading for more that 30 years. Winter in Alaska is prime quilting time with the average winter temp here at 45 below.
I am still learning techniques and hope to be able gain many new ideas from this group. Have a Happy New Year and KEEP QUILTING.

Hi everyone. I am new to this "blogging" thing myself so forgive me if I don't get it right. I have been sewing since I was 3 and quilting for about 28 years. I can't think of a time where fabric wasn't involved. I have made most of my own clothes...that is until I fell in love with quilting. My motto became "if I can buy it readymade and have more time to quilt...so be it". I am self taught and did mostly tradtional quilting until about 3 years ago when I tried my hand at "doing my own thing".… Continue

So glad that CT has begun this connection for all of us quilters. It's cold here in Maine and every chair and sofa in our home has a quilt or two draped over it. My grandaughter always has one she's dragging down the hallway. I've been sewing most of my life - starting when I was about 8. I like designing my own things and experimenting with color and texture. My sewing room currently has about 95 bolts of fabric and twice that many FQ. You'd think I'd be set for life, yet I constantly haunt… Continue

2008 saw huge changes in my life. Family, work and school all took precedence and I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed. I made the decision to take time for myself in 2009 and one of the ways I am doing that is by setting aside a few hours each week to sew. I always found that quilting and sewing were relaxing and provided much needed *me* time. I receive a lot of personal satisfaction from seeing projects completed and find that creating items that are both beautiful and functional assuages… Continue

Wow...So glad to see this on Connecting Threads... I have loved ordering from them and will be ordering more after looking it over today.
I also don't know much about blogging but will sure enjoy reading and getting new ideas. I belong to a Quilting Guild and a few qulliting clubs, along with a friend I helped start Courthouse Step Qilters Club 15 years ago and we have a Quilt Show in October every year...in our little town of Goldthwaite. I have invited Kay to join us...so hope to see you… Continue

Wow! One of my goals for 2009 was to find a nice online quilting community and here you are! I'm looking forward to sharing and conversing with everyone over the next year. I found Connecting Threads by way of a referral from a quilt teacher raving about their thread. I purchased the natural set and am very satisfied with the quality. I'm also grateful that I've found a place that is budget conscious since, like so many, will be tightening the belt this year.
Happy New Year and look… Continue
