I just joined after spending a few hours reading and exploring the site. Everyone seems so nice. Hope to meet you all in time.
I just spent the last few days while on vacation tiling and grouting my entire kitchen wall and backsplash. Seems we quilters have a thing for taking small pieces and making large things from them! It looks great, I am a wreck! Not as young as I used to be. Gonna hurt in the morning for sure...
How many of us do DIY projects or even other crafts?… Continue

Michigan that is :) Just joined this AM. New to blogging & we'll see how it shakes out :)
I'm looking forward to doing more projects that I want to do in 09 & less projects that I *feel obligated* to do. I want time to PLAY in my sewing room.

I just signed up and I have been a quilter for 30 years. I live in the high mountains of Colorado so I do a lot of indoor stuff. I also love to Cross Stitch. My favorite quilts are the flannel and woodsie ones.

I really enjoy Connecting Threads. I look forward to the magazines that come, lots of good information. I live on the beautiful Oregon coast, and had a chance to visit the Connecting Threads store, a couple of years ago. Had such a good time there, a lovely store. Many great memories from the trip. I think if I get started on some Christmas projects I will get them finished by next Christmas... Hoping everyone has a blessed New Year.

I just joined this forum. I love to quilt, but will admit I am very slow and don't get a lot accomplished. I love to read what others are doing and gain a lot of knowledge about quilting from others. Hope to get involved more. Will be leaving for Arizona in a couple of weeks, but plan to take material and sewing machne along. Happy New Year to all of you. Pat

I'm excited about this new web page from Connecting Threads. I have been quilting for about 7 yrs so I still consider myself a newbie compared to all the quilters I meet. I love to make quilts to give to people so I don't have many quilts in my home. I'm excited to talk with all of you and I am reading each blog.

This is new to me too. I have no idea what to do but I know everyone is blogging these days. I have be quilting for about 10 years and work to support my habit. I have 3 grown children and my youngest and only daughter will be getting married in 18 months. I think I will really need quilting to keep my sanity. I love to do scrap quilts and mystery quilts and enjoy challenges. I am not sure where this will lead me but I am looking forward to the journey.

I am very new to quilting but having a wonderful time learning. When I received the invitation to join this group I was so excited. I live in Texas where it is warm & very dry right now. Work full time, but now that I have an "empty nest"....all my girls are finally grown & gone quilting is what I am going to throw myself into. So I'm sure I will have lots of questions along the way but it looks like this is going to be a wonderful place to get them answered.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one new at this. I feel a little odd and at a loss for words, but since we're all quilters, I guess it's easier. Yes, I do love to quilt. Unfortunately my job usually gets in the way. Luckly I work at a school and get summers off and a few times in between. I have a tendency to fritter my time away and I feel I might get lost in something like this blogging when I would rather be quilting. So bye for now.

Hi all,I just joined and am also one who has never joined a blog or anything of that sort but I am willing to learn, especially if it involves quilting or quilters. This sounds like it will be fun. I have been quilting for about 20 years and truly love it. I could quilt all day but fortunately I have to work so I can quilt. I am a self employed hairdresser for 40 years and live at the northeast corner of Ohio and when customers have to cancel you can guess what I do. I just finished and gave… Continue

Greetings from Northeast Ohio. I'm on "permanent vacation". I dropped out of the rat race 2 years ago. I have been able to finish a number of quilts - some that were started years ago. I have a number of half finished quilts. I usually find another quilt to make while I'm in the middle of one - so neither is finished. I started sewing when I was 10 and used needle and thread to make doll clothes. I used an old treadle-type machine in high school to make my own clothes. When I was first married,… Continue

Please ignore the fact that I'm hosting a UFO Quilt Along
because I've had some time off this week and found more projects I need to start, thus breaking my own UFO rules (again).
First, I've been trying to find a project to make from our new fabric collection Riviera
. It's so bright and cheery! I placed a big order for it (sadly the… Continue

Good morning all. I received an email today from Connecting Threads about this blog. I just had to join! I love the fabric from CT and now I can read the blogs on the site also. I am a long arm quilter and also make custom quilts. I have been pretty busy this year with memory photo quilts, t-shirt quilts, and quilts made from loved ones clothing. I have also made several bed quilts. It is neat making memory quilts for people because you almost get to know people through their photos. I work a… Continue

Hi all - I am not only new to the group, I am also new to blogging. I received the e-mail about this new site and joined on a whim. I love to quilt. I have been sewing for many years. Unfortunately the ideas pop into my head much faster than I can piece them, so I too have many projects started. I live in Northern California. I am working full time and have been blessed with a beautiful grand-daughter this past year. I am fooking forward learning new techniques and making new friends.

Hi all! I just joined this new forum this morning and can't begin to tell you how excited I am about it. I love CT and am currently working on a Pioneer Sampler quilt for my DD and need to get on the ball about getting one done for my son. I'm under no illusions that it will take at least a year to do both as I like to do my own quilting also. I've sort of re-evaluated my priorities for this year and my quilting time, which isn't much as I'm sure most of you all know!
I joined the… Continue

...for tallying up. You know, putting the past year into perspective and summon up that flare of hope that we all get around this time, and usually lose by the second week in February. The New Year holiday should be in better weather. I'd be more inspired.
Anyway, I'm about even with my score for last year. Zero. Which, when taken in its fullest definition, is not all bad. Zero on accidents, illnesses, and the like. Zero on major expenditures - car, appliances, roof, water heater.… Continue

Hi quilters, I've been quilting for 12 years. I also enjoy counted cross stitch and embroidery. I am a traditional quilter. I hand quilt when I have the time. Most of the time I do machine quilting. I am also a school bus driver. I plan on joining the ufo group to get some of my projects done.
