I just joined this group and have not done a blog before though I do occasionally post on some online long arm quilting groups I belong to. I have lived in the Quad Cities IL area for 33 years and am truly addicted to quilting. Recent snow melts, rain and a slightly wet quilting studio have me cleaning and reorganizing instead of quilting this week so it seemed a good time to take a break and meet some new friends. I am looking forward to checking out the groups and especially the UFO… Continue

This is the first time I've ever posted anything online. I've just moved to the Quad Cities of Illinois-Iowa to be close to my daughter's family and to start a new job. I know no one else here yet and am hoping I can connect with other quilters, both online and in the area.

Miss T here in Idaho, where currently it is cold! And boy did we get SNOW this year!
I just recieved an email about this site and decided that I should join! I am coming out of a 2 year rest from Quilting and stitching and decided that in 2009 I am going to spark up my machine! I have been Quilting since 1999 when I was working at a local fabric store and got bit by the bug! LOL!! I love rich tones and more of the traditional patterns, but I am open to other… Continue

Happy New Year and Happy Quilting From Texas. It's certainly not snowing in deep southeast Texas but we did have a very rare 4" of the white stuff about 3 weeks ago...shut 1/2 the city of Houston down as we cannot drive on ice. LOL.
Looking forward to creating more quilts in '09.
Happy Stitching to ALL

So glad there is a new group starting - with a new year - goes right with my goals to spend more time for me this year - and of course, I'll be sewing. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and seeing all the beautiful quilts.

Hi everyone. I honestly can't say I am snowed in. I am in sunny South Carolina where on Christmas it was a whole 75 degrees! This is my very first blogging experience. I have read all the ones in here and it has made me want to join a wonderful group like this. I love to quilt and sew. I have finished several tops this year, and my goal this coming year is to get them all quilted. I sewed something for just about everyone on my Christmas list this… Continue

Just now have joined this site. WOW, I am so glad. I am just newly semi-retired (meaning, when money runs out, back to work LOL) This is the first Christmas season in almost 40 years that I have had the luxury of time to prepare, it has been quite unstressfull. According to the weather channel, it is the first time since 1971 that Canada has experienced a white Christmas coast to coast. It was truly beautiful. And hubby gets use of his snow blower hehe.
Now that I have some time I hope to… Continue

Hello, and so glad to be joining this group! I'll add pictures soon, but just wanted to jump in! I live in Fort Wayne, and we just had an ice storm that took power out for 1/4 of our city. We live in the county area and were fortunate to only lose power for a few hours, versus many of our friends were out for a week! We have had a melt down now, single digit temperatures one day, and then almost 70 the next. So, things are back to normal 30's and 20's now, with some snow thrown in. I co-own a… Continue

We have snow here too, though some of it melted, we are supposed to get more tomorrow and even more on Friday night. Fine with me, I have plenty of sewing to keep me busy.

I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's work & sharing my own! We are snowed in & I plan on working on a pile of UFOs while I'm stuck in the house! We have so much snow the cattle guards are full of snow & the calves are walking right over them & escaping into the hay yard! This is my first completed UFO as of… Continue

I am looking forward to a new year with a fresh start on finishing in-progress projects and starting new ones. I have joined Karens UFO group and I think this will help me to get organized and keep on track. One project I recently finished was the ruffled onesie for Melissa's baby shower (I work… Continue

Like much of the country, we've been snowed in here in the NW. I live in Portland, OR (work in Vancouver, WA) and we are not used to this kind of weather! Our schools close when there is an inch of snow on the ground and we had over 14" the week of Christmas! We've had 2 weeks of roller coaster weather with ice, wind storms, freezing rain and lots of snow. While it did make last minute holiday gift and grocery shopping tricky, the plus was having some extra unplanned sewing time.

I have just joined the group through invitation from Christina. Still doing some work on my home page like getting a picture of me. I am really looking forward to the different ideas and discussions from everyone. We are winding down from Christmas and hope you all had a good one. Working at our little local retail store during Christmas is an all consuming thing. Seems I have had no time for anything but now with Christmas behind us, I can zoom in to… Continue

Wahoo! It is finally snowy and icy enough that I am stuck in the house. I decided to quilt my Accidental Landscape
wall hanging. I love the book so much I did an audio review on it. I took a class from Karen Eckmeier… Continue

This year for our secret Santa in the office I drew Judy's name. Around that same time she asked me if I wanted to sew the photography sample of the Cup Cozy Kit
, joking that when I was done I could give them to her. She had no idea that I had her name! I ended up giving her the heart cozy and kept the other for myself.

It's Friday and I still am not stuck at home because of bad weather, maybe this weekend. We all embellished onsies for Melissa's baby shower. I made butterfly wings on mine from the book Baby Love
.I used a scrap piece of fabric from the new Riviera fabric collection. It was really fun and easy to do. By the way, Melissa and Katie are hosting a… Continue

I have been quilting for 12 years now and believe it or not I just made my first Yo-Yo project for our catalog (remind you this was not a choice of my own). The project consisted of 49 - 3/4" finished yo-yo's and measured 5-1/4" square when completed. Wow, that is truly a miniature! When I finished I said I would never make another one but let me remind you, never say "never"! You can order this project on our… Continue

I am so excited! I have never taken part in anything like this before. I am definitely a beginner at blogging. I am much better at quilting! (I never thought I would ever say that.) I am hoping we get a lot of snow today so I will be stuck safely at home with power. Then I won't have any distractions and will be FORCED to work on my many unfinished projects that get ignored this time of year. Let's hope.

I'm going to set the tone right now for blogging. I've told all of our quilting staff that they need to try to keep their posts sort of quilting related, but I tend to not follow my own rules (bad Karen, bad!). Instead of quilting, I'll start off by welcoming you to my office, freshly decorated for Christmas.
I have so many decorations for my office that I keep them on a pallet at work instead of dragging them home every year. We are open the day after Thanksgiving and I always use… Continue

I'm so excited to share my tiny little piece of the quilting world with all of you. As the holiday season approaches, I look forward to a new year and new motivation to get my many unfinished projects done. Because heaven knows it's not going to happen before Christmas! And I'm hoping Karen's UFO group will help me with that. :) I also can't wait to get started on our new block of the month group. I'm hosting the first project, featuring Paula Stoddard's Southern Stars pattern, sewn in our very… Continue
