Well it has happened. I have discovered the wonderful world of making fabric bowls. Because the last month has been so hectic I wanted something I could make quickly and finish all in one setting! So there it is...I love these cute bowls. I posted one picture and also made one for Xmas as well. I can see many Xmas gifts springing forward in my mind here!! They are so easy and the creativity you can have is endless. I also am trying some Fabric boxes...a treasure chest type..a little harder but… Continue

It seems like it's been forever since I wrote or even have been able to visit this site!! I think I am having withdrawls. This time of year is grueling with all the graduations, weddings and everyday life moving into the summer months. But in good old AZ it has decided to get unbarably HOT and now I can get under the A/C and quilt. I am still working on my cathedral quilt which is going well. I am also finishing a baby quilt for a niece, an I Spy quilt for my son and the much promised Purple… Continue

OK so some time ago I watched a video on You Tube about wholecloth quilts. Then I saw a video on Kayewood TV from Sulky about Crayon Quilts. These quilts are awesome and so much fun to make. I have a friend expecting a baby soon and am making her one of these quilts!! You use sandpaper and color the pieces with crayons and then iron it on your fabric and then outline with crayon or thread! Will post pictures when I get the top done!! This is way too much fun...and a great project to make with… Continue

I was just looking at all the posts on the main page and the groups that I have joined and then all the pictures. I started at about 4pm and my husband came in at 6pm and said "Could you maybe drag yourself away for some dinner?"
I hadn't even made a dent in looking at all the wonderful, beautiful things that have been shared on here. But more than that, I relaized what amazing things I have seen and don't recall any duplicates!! That is just amazing to me! Just goes to show what talented… Continue

I just added a couple photos of a baby quilt that I am using as a guinea pig for free motion quilting. I have a serious deficiency when it comes to easy I think! I traced a friends baby hands and feet and then used them as a pattern for this quilt. I then added hearts and lines in between. I couldn't possibly start with something easy like stippling!! HAHA It looks OK from a distance but up close well that's a different story! But Jody is only a year old and won't notice!
I also added a… Continue

Well today has been a quiet relaxing day. I sewed all day long and finished some projects and started a new one. I love these kind of days!! I actually finished a Connecting Threads project that I bought some time ago. It's a pin cushion bag and needle book. It is really cute!! Added to my photos. ( I hate the way they show up in the blog!)

I posted some pictures today of the Cathedral Quilt that I have started. I enjoyed this and this is going to be very pretty when finished. I also posted a picture of another quilt that I am making for my younger sister Cathy. She loves purple and black!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day and take a moment to remember our men and women fighting in other countries this weekend as well as those that have fallen in the line of duty!! You are in my mind always Dad!!

So today I started a new project and mys sister-in-law thinks I am crazy, but it is pretty easy so far anyway. I am starting a Cathedral Quilt. I saw it on a blog as I was surfing on the net and the lady had a great tutorial that walks you through it step by step. The thing I loved about it too was that as you make each block you are finishing the quilt at the same time. So when you get the last block done.....quilt is done! They are very beautiful quilts and looked very complicated, but not at… Continue

OK so I am in trouble!! I got my Connecting Threads catalog today and it forced me to hop on over to the online shop and now I am $60 more in debt!! Oh well! She with the most fabric wins...right? I purchased the new Home and Hearth line and some of their clearance stuff and thread! I love this company!! Now I will be all antsy till my order arrives. HEHE (My husband is looking at me like I have lost my mind)! He just doesn't understand!!
Have a great Day!

So today a friend of mine was asking how I started quilting and who taught me. I told her I learned sewing in school...we won't say how long ago that was...anyway, and then my mother-in-law always made quilts by hand from old clothes or fabric she got at auctions and such and then hand tied them. So when she got me hooked I was looking for something that could helo me understand some of the basics including what I needed to start. So I searched a bookstore for a book and found the Better Homes… Continue

So I decided to just have a fun weekend sewing with my scraps and this is what I came up with. It was so relaxing and I had the whole weekend to myself as my husband was away with his brother all weekend. So here is the product of my relaxation.....
2 - pincushions, a quilt class bag that holds your mat, rulers, tools, etc. and made a very small dent in all those scraps!!
Check out my pics to see the new stuff. hope everyone had a great weekend!

OK I am so behind on my projects. My Shih Tzu Roxy had 6 new wonderful babies yesterday and I had to be the mid-woof! All are doing fine! All this and trying to put together a Beginners Quilting Class for our community! Some days I just need more hours than others!
