I just took a class from Cindy Needham. Awesome instructor. This is what I came up with when I divided and designed a blank piece of fabric. I love how she teaches sunshine and shadows. It was fun using different fillers. Once UFO.s are done I will design a whole cloth using her methods.… Continue

Thanks everyone for your prayers.. We are home again but on 24 hour notice if fire flares up again. We are on the Halstead fire. Other than pets we did not bring much back with us incase we leave again. I had to laugh the day we were packing to leave. DH collects old guns. As I was packing my quilts he pipes up and says "Hey those would be perfect to wrap my guns in." Lets just say after I gave him my answer, he won't ever ask that question again. What was he thinking?
Going to go to… Continue

Been spending the day packing what I think can not be replaced. The fire is headed our way. I have been using my stash to wrap around my family antiques. The forest fire is headed our way and there is no stopping her. One thing I want all of you to remember, please take pictures of everything in your home. Open drawers and doors to show what you have. We have an awesome insurance company and they said as you leave your home make sure you have a picture of everything you have left behind.… Continue

Brings some cheer to the guys who have to work and keeps me busy and not sad by missing the kids. We had our Christmas last weekend with all the Kids & GK's Was so much fun. I thought last year was hard, but this year has been harder. Things are turning around and the light is getting brighter. So thankful God was… Continue

I just added six new pictures of the quilt I just finished to my page. Need to cut a few more threads but wanted to take pictures before it got to dark. As you can see it was a kit from CT and I just added more borders. The back shows the quilting better. Will use thinner thread from now on because you back track a lot. I really love this technique. I love doing free motion quilting.

A while back someone posted about using these feathers and that Kim Bunner was the designer. I just wanted to thank you. I ordered her book and have learned so much. I am binding a quilt tonight and hope to have pictures posted in the next day or so. The quilt turned out amazing ( DH even said so). It was intended to be a picnic quilt but now will be used for something special. DH said it looks like if I keep this up he will have to buy me a longarm. Told him I would have to go test drive one… Continue

Had a great day with DH, DS and my 2 beautiful GD's. We all went 4 wheeling and than for a ride in my new jeep wrangler with the top off. We get to head to Wyoming next week to spend seven days with our beautiful GD's. Than the following two week we will spend in California with SIL as she has developed 15 new tumors and there is no way to remove them. At least she still has no pain. Need to spend some quality time together as doctor says there is not a lot of time left. The people from her church are so awesome. God has blessed her with wonderful people. There is always someone with her everyday.
Did get a couple of quilts… Continue

My sister and I are going to buy an alarm system for her home and DB is going to install it. I think it it the best saltion. They wanted to put a solid door in and I said not a good idea. How about one that you lock like your car and if they break the window and try to open it an alarm will go off or just get her an alarm system. I hate doors you can not see out of cause you never know what is standing on the other side. Anyways we opted for the whole deal system and it has a alarm she wears so… Continue

On our last day of work last week I informed DH that he still owes me for the backhoe and I have come up with a partial payment. Starting Wed morning I was going on a quilt retreat for the next seven days. I would get up each morning make a cup of coffee head to sewing room and only leave it when he had breakfast or lunch ready. At the end of the day around 7, I would come out to sit and visit as he cooked supper. If the kids called and it was not an emergency I would call that evening. It was… Continue

I finished the five quilts at 1 A.M. this morning. Felt so good. I always save the hand work on the binding for when I am working night shifts. It is usually quiet and I would rather hand quilt than read a book. I brought some applique projects with me to work tonight. I have to admit I have an awesome job. Tomorrow when I wake up I will start machine quilting before going to work tomorrow night. When I get to town I will have to buy batteries for the camera so I can take pictures of finished… Continue
