All your prayers and good wishes have helped. My son is out of surgery! It took longer than what they thought so I have been on pins and needles all day. Now for a long recovery.
The week has ended on a high note after all. My grandson has recovered, and my son will too. Maybe now I can concentrate on quilting!

Would everyone have good thoughts today for my son as he undergoes his third spinal surgery for another bone spur. Our youngest son is there to support him and his wife.
Our grandson gave us a scare Monday night as we found out that her spent the night in ER for serious heat exhaustion. We've received word that his temp is down and he's rest comfortably. Now to wait for word on our son's condition.
Some weeks are very trying.

I have added a photo of a pillow that I made for my mother. The border is a handkerchief of my mother's and the photo is from the 1940's. Dad died in 1989 so mom enjoys this photo of them together. I enjoyed doing it for her.

Good morning from Florida. It's a beautiful day and the pollen count is even beginning to drop! Monday at 2am we had a thunderstorm! The wind blew and the rain pounded against our bedroom windows and the lightening flashed and the thunder boomed! We are in one piece but others in Florida weren't so lucky. We ended up with 3 inches of rain! What a night. Took a nap on Monday. Hope everyone else is well out there.

I found a way online to avoid making a casing for the cover. The instructions say to cut the casing on your old cover with a 1 inch seam allowance and then resew it to your new one. I think I will try that. But first a gift to make and more blankets for my charity. Etc, etc.

Has anyone made an ironing board cover? My board is about 40 years old (yes--maybe more!) and I can't find a cover that actually fits it. This board is sturdy and larger than the ones found now. What could I use for padding? I thought muslin for the top. Any ideas?

forgot to note that the black material on the train quilt has faint drawings of trains in it. Can't remember where I found it but it was perfect for a train quilt border!

After a very lazy weekend (no I didn't accomplish much) have finally posted my seasons hangings. These came each month and now that they are finished I have sure enjoyed having a different hanging for each month. When Jan. comes around they are new all over again. They are small--6" x 21"--so don't take up much room which is good as we live in an apartment. They all have small details that don't show much in the pictures. Such as special buttons (bees) and beads for watermelon seeds. They were… Continue

Has anyone ever been to the annual quilt show in Sisters, Oregon? I was lucky enough to be there in 2003. There were quilts everywhere!!!! On buildings, inside stores, etc. We went into Jean Wells shop but she was not present and the store was so jampacked with people that you could not really see anything. But it was quite an experience. One note--we made our reservations a year early and still had to stay in Bend, Oregon. But it wasn't far to Sisters. If you get a chance to go you will find… Continue
