I have borrowed a Janome from a friend as my machine has gone for servicing. The Janome is an old machine with no manual and the friend has inherited it from her mother-in-law. She has no clue about the machine's features either. If anyone is familiar with old models of Janome can you enlighten me on these two points?
1. On the dial for stitch length there is a marking with a + and a - on either side of 'ss'. What setting is this for.

I should have started quilting at least fifteen years ago instead of just three years back. My sister who was visiting me from US and who knew I had inclinations towards crafting and sewing gifted me with booklets and books about piecing and quilting. I fell in love with the gfg ever since I saw a link in the BOM I am doing with Craftsy. Heaxagons and EPP were one month's block. The 'to do or not to do" dilemma lasted for a month or two.
