It's for machine quilting with your domestic machine - does anyone own one? If you do/did, what do/did you like/dislike about it? I'm looking at the original that will enable me to quilt while sitting down. I'm just tired of wrestling with the quilts to quilt them on my domestic sitting on the old kitchen table. I saw one at a…Continue
Back in Jan, someone posted a link for a BOM. Each pattern is free if you 'purchase' it the same month that it's released... .$1.00 after the next one comes out. I signed up and had downloaded but not printed out Jan-April - but then got a virus on my computer and lost the link and my downloads along with 95% of my vacation pics.
I'd really like to get the link again - and this time, I'll print out the patterns - not trusting them to my computer again (even if this is the first time…Continue
I just noticed that I haven't blogged in awhile, but I have been busy.
This quilt was made for DH's gson who is getting married in just over a week. He's a BIG University of Michigan fan and his bride to be is becoming one. I had the top done in early Feb but had to wait for my favorite LA to have time to quilt it for me. I got it back this past Saturday and had the binding and label on that same evening. The back is UofM maize but it looks more like a buttercup yellow in the pics…Continue
I finally received the pics of my customer receiving her Newfie quilt.
just thought I'd share this story (got it from quiltbug.com's fb posting)
wooo hooo just finished this one a few minutes ago. It's for our now 3 1/2 yr old great granddaughter and it's almost identical to the one I made for our other great gd; they will both receive them for Christmas this year along with co-ordinating pillowcases.
Tomorrow I'll be sandwiching the Newfie quilt for the customer in Scotland and hopefully…Continue
Last month after my friend Kathleen went back home to Scotland, she showed a friend the Newfie (Newfoundland) dog quilt that I gave to her when she was here. The friend asked if I would be interested in making one for them also. I gave what I thought at the time was a high price and they agreed to it... even sent more than half of the asking price for a deposit. So, that's what I've been doing for the past couple of weeks.
Here is the completed top; …Continue
of course, someone had to do a study to find that out :).
to get my greedy lil paws on this pattern, but I finally did.... and here's the results. I just finished it up a few minutes ago... well, still have to add the label.
I made this for my husband's "Nook" (e-reader). Nothing fancy, but what man wants 'fancy'? lol... Had to do a little adjusting as it started out too big. …Continue
Monday morning I will hopefully be going to pick up my new sewing machine from the dealer. I went to a quilt show today with another member of the guild I belong to. Wouldn't you know, they had sewing machines (domestic and long arm) there, too lol.
We got to talking to a woman at the domestic machine booth and I was telling her how badly I need a new machine and that I had had one on layaway until we had to buy our new car & I had to give it up. She mentioned that they also…Continue

Awhile back, I posted a message about how I was DESPERATE for a particular quilt pattern. Apparently no one had it although several though it was really cute.
Last Monday, I decided to 'google' it again and I FOUND IT!! I immediately sent off payment for it and it arrived today. Here it is. I'm soooo excited!!!!!
I can't wait to get started... but it will have to wait until the end of this month :(. Oh well, I've waited 5 yrs for it and now I have it - I can wait a couple…Continue
I just finished this up today.. and it will definitely be the last project for a couple of weeks.
A member of the guild I belong to has a treadle sewing machine for sale. I thought about it for myself, but then realized that I really don't have the room for it. If anyone in the mid michigan area ( or are willing to travel to the area) is interested, please leave me a message on my page and I'll get back to you with more info (and pics).
Hope this 'ad' is ok with CT admin. I'm just trying to help a friend out.
but this is the tote I made today.. not exactly following the pattern, but close enough to make me happy :) I really like how it turned out. The 'star' was supposed to be a pinwheel, but I like this even better.Continue
I said that I wasn't going to be doing any more sewing/quilting until my friend returns to Scotland next month, but I decided that I'd like a new purse/tote/bag to take with me when we travel to Nashville and I've been wanting to do this one for several months now. The little wallet to go with it was made last year- and it's outside matching the lining of the purse/tote/bag. The pattern is Bow Tucks Tote and was designed by Penny Sturges. ( I made the straps longer than what the pattern…Continue
The members of our guild decided to do a BOM for the next 12 months. At the end, the blocks will be stacked by the month they were made and then names will be drawn to see who takes which pile home.
We were given the directions and pattern for our first block last night. We were to use a very pale yellow, a med. brown and one or more purples. I came home and started working on it... took a little over an hour or so.... only to find out that it was 12 1/4" x 12 1/4' when it was…Continue
The quilt is done... except for adding some black beads to the black polka dot pair (bottom row); I don't have the right beads, but will get them.
Two pair have rhinestones added to the straps... there's also another frog in the lower left hand corner that can't be seen in this pic.…
You can't see it in this pic, but it's STILL coming down. Hello!?!? It's the middle of APRIL!!! This is so not funny. DH is trying to use it as an excuse not to go to the dr. It's not THAT bad and he only has to drive less than two miles to the drs office - he's going! :)
