I belong to two guilds in the area, and I am VP/Project Coordinator for one of the guild the I belong to. This year instead of having our BOM we had a scavenger hunt. Each month I would give them 3 items and they needed to put them into one block. It could be appliqued, sewn, embroidered, painted, paper pieced. We gave them prizes for participation, and for persons that finished. Here is my quilt, finished. I tried to quilt each block with something from that block. In the border, I quilted… Continue

This is a quilt that I made for a shop sample to be displayed. Then I taught the Block of the Month for it. It is just the flimsy I have not quilted it yet.

This was made for a special lady in my life that I have watched grow up since she was a little girl and now she has a baby girl. They named their baby "Variety" and this is the Quilt that I made for her. I appliqued the elephant and bird using needle turn and then embelished with the embroidery detail. Mommy was very pleased.… Continue

It is to me that a year went by and no posts - before the year is out I need to do at least one :)

Wow I can't believe I did not do a post for a full year. I've gotten in looked around and gotten out, I guess I just didn't do any posts. So I have added some pictures of a few of the quilts I did in 2010. A baby quilt for a special gal that's like another daughter, lap quilts for Dad and my Step Mom, Baby quilt for my Great Grandson, one of two fat quarter challenge quilts... I have a few more that are not done - but had only included one of those (top only) quilts in the new photos. My… Continue

For any of you in the Pacific Northwest... a sunshiney day is sometimes rare. And what is scary as I sit here at work looking out at the sunshine, is not that I want to go home, it's that I still want to go home and sew.
Am I strange, or just a quilter?
Have a nice day - Everyone!

Well I really enjoyed the show. I was with two non quilters or I might have closed the place down. Such a variety of quilts. There were some that were nice, cute, pretty, awesome and weird... but everyone has different tastes.
Helpful nice booths, like I said I probably would have spent more time in the booths but didn't want to bore my non quilting Sister and friend. But I think it could easily have more quilts and booths so sign up if you want.
I had my camera and forgot… Continue

Okay for a little info. The Red White and Black Is a WIP and will be a king size quilt possibly for my and my honey. Please disregard the strips underneath I laid it on the bed so I could take the picure.

Okay if rip it rip it rip it has something to do with Frogs, then it is raining frogs everywhere. It was a normal day of sewing with a little sew and rip sew and rip. So finally I had the flying geese border all the way around the border. Looked Great.
Then I have a little extra time so I decide to do the next border. Why isn't it lining up. Rip It Rip It Rip It. The geese on the previous border were flying the wrong way. So I rip all four borders off and start again. Then I sew all… Continue
