Thanksgiving Holiday

I greatly enjoyed the holidays. We had 23 for Thanksgiving with 10 desserts. My nieces brought their grat creations along with pies made by me, my sisters, and brothers. It takes two days to prepare the meal and get the house ready. However, it is worth it. I always enjoy having family in my home. I will attempt to add some pictures to share the festivities with you. Below are pictures of the dessert buffet. Believe it or not, most of the pies and cupcakes were gone by the end of the… Continue

Ct Projects

I recently completed a few projects that I purchased this summer from Connecting Threads. Two kits plus extra fabric allowed me to complete three runners. I am attaching the photos of the runners. They turned out well and work with the end of summer colors here in California. Our fall weather is hot but the country side is golden as the colors in the fabric.…

End of Summer

It is September and the fall season is about to begin. September 1st, Dove Hunting Season, brings me memories of my grandmother, who's birthday was on that day as well. The shorter days of sunlight also bring cool evening breezes and a hint of cooler weather to come. County fairs and Friday night football are other great September events. The season change has energized me to complete three projects using the Golden Summer fabrics. These colors reflect the early fall season here in California.… Continue

Spring is Definitely Here

I enjoyed Easter week and all the family and religious festivities. Had two brothers with their families and a sister and her son who joined mom and I for Easter dinner. We had a rain storm on Sunday night. I went up to Oakhurst, CA to assist at the Wild Wonderful King Vintage Museum and was surprised to see snow on the ground in the foothills. The museum had a Lincoln Exhibit in March and the Soroptimist Organization assisted them in… Continue

It is Christmas Time Again

I really enjoy this time of year...decorating, baking, visiting with family and friends, special events and shopping as well. I did not make any gifts this year for family although I had intentions of making tote bags. If I begin in January, I should be able to get them done by next Christmas...now I just need to begin planning. I have been able to get some quilts quilted by Quilt Guild members and they are turning out quite nice. Now I need to finish binding them. Two of them are going to a… Continue

Happy Birthday to all October Birthday Folks

It has been a while since I have posted any comments. Time flies. Today would have been my dad's 90th birthday - he had always wanted to live until 100, but his Parkinson's disease, broken hip and pnuemonia got the best of him last year. I have had him on my mind today as I prepared for a garage sale tomorrow morning. I still miss him and sometimes still remember him when he was humming a tune, plucking on his guitar or out in the back yard enjoying the sun.

I found some of dad's old… Continue

New CT Quilt Blog

I am fascinated with this web site and all the ideas available to us. I will be retiring soon and look forward to catching up on my quilting. I have approximately 14 quilt tops which need quilting. However, I have more joy in piecing together quilts than actually quilting. I enjoy making small projects that I can complete within a short time. I recently saw a book with many different types of Nativity Scene patterns which I hope to purchase some day. Thank you for reading and allowing me to be… Continue
