Just checking in to say hello to all my Quilting Friends.
I have had a fairly productive Winter so far. I got a third quilt back from the LAQ yesterday but have to put the binding on before I take a picture. I started working on a Sunbonnet Sue for my second great granddaughter. I'm also working on a wall hanging when I go to our Sewing Club. I can't believe how fast the time flies. Our Snow Birds will be packing up and moving back to their homes before too long.
Where does the time go? It's hard to believe that Christmas is over. We, along with a lot of other States got plenty of snow on Christmas Day. Ours is light and fluffy but it kept the men busy keeping it plowed.
I had a quiet Christmas with just my son and his girlfriend coming for dinner.
My head is swirling with all the projects I want to work on the rest of the Winter. I got a couple of Christmas books with patterns that I would like to make.
Enjoy the rest of…Continue
It's hard to believe that Christmas is just day's away. This will be a busy week. Cooking and attending Christmas events. I'm in the church choir and we have been practicing the Christmas Cantata for Christmas Eve. My son John and his girlfriend will be coming for Christmas dinner. Here's wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Hello my quilting friends. It's been awhile since I posted so thought I would stop by and say hello. I have been busy today rearranging my closets to make room for a three drawer plastic storage unit that was given to me. The lady who has gifted me with her fabric stash gave me this unit. I will put it to good use. It's 24 wide and 25 high. Should hold a fair amount of fabric. With all the stuff in the closet out in the middle of the floor my sewing room looks like a bomb hit…Continue
I have had a very busy week. Bud took a critical turn for the worse and I went to Machias 4 times last week. He died late Sunday night. It's a blessing, his dementia was at it's peak and he was nothing more then a skeleton. His son is coming the 27th and the graveside service will be held on the 29th. He will be buried with military honor's. A CD of him and his friend, Frank will be played as well.
On a more cherry note I spent the day up at the hall on Tues. and got a lot of my…Continue
Snow flurries here this morning. Like we need to see that. But the temps have been warm for the most part. It won't last, so not fretting about it. Have had a few health problems the past two months. UTI followed by a massive hives breakout from the antibiotic I took for the UTI. The doctor is still trying to get my Cumidin level adjusted back to normal. So it's back and forth to the lab at the hospital trying to get it back to normal. Bud is on Palliative Care now. He hasn't been doing…Continue

This is a quilt that was brought to me to put a binding on. The man's mother died before she got it finished. If anyone can tell me what the star pattern is called I would love to know. All the books with stars that I have don't have this pattern in it.…Continue
I'm dog sitting this weekend. This is the first time I have met this sweet dog. I still miss Holly so I'm really loving having Katy here with me. She is a Pit Bull mix. She lives in Gordonville Canada. My son got her from a shelter in Ontario. He had a hard time getting her to come into the apartment but once he left she and I bonded quickly. I might lock the door when I see him coming so he can't take her home. lol…Continue
The tenants that rented my house for 6 month have left. Leaving behind two months unpaid rent and leaving the house and yard in the worst mess you can ever imagine. Plugged toilet, ( I poured a half gal. of liquid plummer down it and left it for two days. I had to do a lot of plunging but it gave way after awhile) and trash in every room. I have been over there all week cleaning and bagging up trash. I have to have a dumpster to hold it all. But behind every dark cloud is a silver…Continue
I took my tree and trimmings down today for another year. I put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving and take it down the day after Christmas. Now it's business as usual.
I'm hoping to accomplish more now with all the activities surrounding the holidays behind me. I trust everyone had a super Christmas. Mine was quiet for the most part, except for the activity's at church. And hosting the Bingo group here at my place. I made some candy to put in boxes for loved one's who live out…Continue
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of our Savior. I remember being shy and scared to death of getting up in front of people at church to recite my piece. On one occasion I stood behind a big plant and never heard the last of it from my older sister. The week before Christmas day was as exciting as the actual day. The special treat of divinity fudge and other goodies that Mum made just for Christmas. Going into the woods and picking out the Christmas tree. And the fun of decorating it.…Continue
