Sunset and storm clouds

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in the St. Croix Valley.  Temperature was 43 degree's but late in the day the clouds stated rolling in.  To my surprise we didn't get a storm but the temperature has dipped to 14 degree's with a very strong wind bringing the wind chill to even colder temps.  I took this picture last night from my deck looking tward Canada.  The sunset is not quite as vivid on the pic as it was in real life, but it's still pretty to my eye.…

Story of a lost puppy

A week or two after Thanksgiving my friends daughter lost her puppy.  She had taken the dog to the store with her as she had done before.  This time the dog jumped out of the car and dissappeared.  There were sitings of the dog but no one could catch it.  Weeks went by, posters and news articles had no respones.  Recently word got to the dogs owner that someone just a mile up the road had been feeding a dog.  She went to the house to inquire and learned that the dog that was being fed did…

A big wind blew 2012 out and left us with several inches of snow  and very cold tempertures to boot.  Right now 30 degree's would feel like a heat wave.  Well, what can I say it's Winter in Maine.  Cold temps, snow and winds are common this time of year (like many of the States) so we just have to grin and bear it.
