Just Checking in

I have been up since 4:00 a.m. trying to keep quiet to let dh and the dog sleep. I took the dog out when I got up but she had the good sense to go back up to bed.  We are getting gale force winds and rain today. The good thing is the temp. is 44 degrees so it's not freezing rain.

I have taken my Christmas trimmings down and doing some re-organizing in my sewing room this week.  I have got to make it a priority in this coming year to use up some of this fabric. I have it stashed in…

Last Christmas projects

My Christmas sewing in complete.  I posted pictures of a football place mat and a Blues Clue quilt. I made a set of four placemats and ran out of fabric to do the table runner so now I have to order the fabric and make the table runner.  I didn't get to all the projects I had planned to make due to being side tracked with Christmas parties and other activities.  However I did much better then past years by starting earlier on my Christmas projects.  Here's wishing everyone a very Merry…

Profile pic

Thanks for all your suggestions. So far I haven't found a way to change my profile and CT has not replied to me, so I guess they don't have an answer either.

How do I change my profile picture

This is what I have done and it's not working for me.

I go into my profile page

I hit browse under my current profile photo

I select the picture I want from my file and click to open it. A window comes up that says "upload profile photo.

Then it tells me to select the visible region of my photo. I do that and then nothing happens. Where do I go to save and change my photo. I have checked all my options in my (file, Edit, view etc.) but nothing is popping out at…

New Photos

O.K. I finally got some pics posted of my latest projects.  I have been a busy little bee for the past several weeks.  Trying to take care of clients and get my own sewing done.  I have to say I'm beginning to like "hand" sewing after doing these three quilts and a tablerunner.  I park myself in front of the t.v. and enjoy my hand work.  Never thought I would hear that coming out of my mouth.  I'm going to be making more of those aprons.  I got the tea towel from Missouri Star Quilt Co. and…

Happy Thanksgiving

Whew! where has this year gone.  I hope your all having a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. I will be working at the church today for the community Thanksgiving dinner. I have done this for many years. I will be having my family in on Sat. for the family feast.  I am thankful for so many things but this year my granddaughter and her husband from Ks. are home for two weeks and will be dining with us.  I hope before they go back, we can have a "cooking" day so she can make some…

Good News on my eye

Went to the speicialist in Bangor today and was given a wonderful report. I do have a bit of  Macular Degeneration but not enough to cause concern.  My eye was "very dry". She told me to put several drops in a day.  She said I don't need to go back to her for 3 years, unless my eye doctor here has a concern. I was relieved, to say the least. Thank you all for your prayers.   While I was up there I went into the Viking Gallery at JoAnn Fabric and bought two new presser feet for my embroidery… Continue

Hats off to Ya

Every now and then when the day's work is done I like to browse through the pictures on QWU. I have to say we have a great group of talented ladies on here. I get so inspired to get at my projects. I have a quilt started for my youngest grandson, a table runner and placemat set done (can't show it until after Christmas). I also have a  tree skirt ready to start. I have the fabric bought and ready to cut.  I have been bogged down a little with re-doing my bedroom and doing the alterations. I…

I need some help

How do I delete pictures below my profile? I have pictures of my sewing room below my profile and above my slide show. One picture is enlarged and I can't get it back to size. I have no idea how this happened. I noticed also that the picture that is normal size has a bar to move it back and forth. I never noticed that before either. Is anyone else experiencing this problem.

Just checking in.

Hi Ladies, I thought I would check in so you know where I'm at. I have had a couple of conversation on FB and QWU chat with some of you but for the most part I haven't been on the computer much lately.

I ripped my bedroom apart over a month ago and still haven't gotten it done yet. Just when I think I have time to go back at it, I get redirected. I'm working on it today, only because guild was canceled. Last week I had to make a big birthday cake for my aunts 90th birthday and then I…

Day of reckoning

I know your all dying to find out how the "hair clippers worked". Yesterday dh asked me to give him a haircut but I skirted the issue by saying I was too busy to do it.  I told him I would cut it today. Hoping he'd forget. After lunch he said, "I don't suppose you can cut my hair". I didn't know whether to lie and say I was too busy or tell him the truth. I opted to do neither. I said O.k. so off to the kitchen we went.  To my surprise the clippers work just fine and I decided never to tell… Continue

Storm missed us.

Just to let you all know that when the topical storm got into Southern Maine it veered to the North and missed us here in the East, except for spurts of heavy rain and strong winds. We are still getting the winds today but we are getting sunny skies. I do feel sorry for those who lost loved ones, experienced flooding, wind damage and loss of power. You are on my prayer list.  Now that I'm not glued to the weather channel, my life has been back to normal today.

Busy day for me.

Hi Everyone. I have been working in my bedroom all day. I started ripping the paper off the other day but didn't get much done when company came in. So today I went back at it. I decided to move the furniture from each wall at a time. Rip the paper off, tear up the rug in that area and then paint. Put the furniture back and move to the next wall. Nothing is ever as simple as you might think.  Many years ago I had to have a closet built in my room. The house is over a hundred years old. I guess… Continue

I posted a couple more pic.

I tried to add pictures to my blog but it didn't work out so I posted them on my page.

I actually made a purse for myself. At guild on Sat. we had a UFO day so I took my purse that I had cut out a few weeks ago out of fabric I got on the Spring Shop Hop. Then on Sunday a lady gave me a piece of fabric she no longer wanted. I squared it up and put a rolled hem on it and I think it made a pretty table topper. Even though these projects were small and "no brainers" I enjoyed doing them. …

Back to Square one

The deal with my son and his wife has fallen through. I called a hault to it this week. My son is on the road all week trucking so I have had to deal with his wife.  She has been in charge of everything and impossible to work with.  I gave them the lowest price I could, as it was my son and then she beat me down another $16,00.  I gave in and accepted the lower offer against my better judgement. Then she was slow to get things moving. Finally I thought everything was coming to  close when it…

I hope your all keeping cool

Summer is sure winding down fast, a couple of months and the fall weather will be hitting this area. On the whole we have had a pretty good Summer. I thank God that we don't get that unmerciful heat that some of you are getting.

I posted a picture yesterday on my page of an anniversary cake that I made for my cousin and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary.  It seems to never fail that someone else always asks if I will make a cake for them. Yesterday a lady wanted me to make her a…

Hello from Maine

Just stopping by to say hello.  I trust your all having a great Summer, (in spite of the heat) in some areas.  We are suppose to get in the high 80's tomorrow.  Alright now, I can hear some of you who are experiencing triple didget temps. saying "poor you" in a very cynical tone. Actually I had to turn my ceiling fan off as I was getting chilly a few minutes ago. We are expecing a severe thunder storm this after noon.

My son is in the process of buying my house. I'm hoping it will go…

What a morning.....

I was awakened by loud thunder at 4:30 a.m..  Once awake, that's it, I'm up for the day. I got all my bags packed, (three, plus a small table),  to take to guild.  I am in the habit of taking what Mum used to call a "lazy man's load).  Instead of taking three trips to the car I have to look like a "pack mule" taking off to the mountains for a month. Made my lunch. And off I went.( in a pouring down rain).  Got to the church and had to set up a bunch of tables and run the extention cords for…

Where does it all come from.

I am not a "pack rat" but I would have a hard time convincing someone of that, if they should come by my house any time soon. I have been digging out closets & draws and everywhere else you might choose to put things. I have bagged up clothes that I have been holding onto (for when I lose weight). I have made up my mind that I will NEVER get back into a size 10. And if I do, I deserve to get a new wardrobe. Now, I think I have 3 things left in my closet. (just kidding). I have dragged…
