Every now and then when the day's work is done I like to browse through the pictures on QWU. I have to say we have a great group of talented ladies on here. I get so inspired to get at my projects. I have a quilt started for my youngest grandson, a table runner and placemat set done (can't show it until after Christmas). I also have a tree skirt ready to start. I have the fabric bought and ready to cut. I have been bogged down a little with re-doing my bedroom and doing the alterations. I…Continue
How do I delete pictures below my profile? I have pictures of my sewing room below my profile and above my slide show. One picture is enlarged and I can't get it back to size. I have no idea how this happened. I noticed also that the picture that is normal size has a bar to move it back and forth. I never noticed that before either. Is anyone else experiencing this problem.
Hi Ladies, I thought I would check in so you know where I'm at. I have had a couple of conversation on FB and QWU chat with some of you but for the most part I haven't been on the computer much lately.
I ripped my bedroom apart over a month ago and still haven't gotten it done yet. Just when I think I have time to go back at it, I get redirected. I'm working on it today, only because guild was canceled. Last week I had to make a big birthday cake for my aunts 90th birthday and then I…Continue
Just to let you all know that when the topical storm got into Southern Maine it veered to the North and missed us here in the East, except for spurts of heavy rain and strong winds. We are still getting the winds today but we are getting sunny skies. I do feel sorry for those who lost loved ones, experienced flooding, wind damage and loss of power. You are on my prayer list. Now that I'm not glued to the weather channel, my life has been back to normal today.
I tried to add pictures to my blog but it didn't work out so I posted them on my page.
I actually made a purse for myself. At guild on Sat. we had a UFO day so I took my purse that I had cut out a few weeks ago out of fabric I got on the Spring Shop Hop. Then on Sunday a lady gave me a piece of fabric she no longer wanted. I squared it up and put a rolled hem on it and I think it made a pretty table topper. Even though these projects were small and "no brainers" I enjoyed doing them. …Continue
The deal with my son and his wife has fallen through. I called a hault to it this week. My son is on the road all week trucking so I have had to deal with his wife. She has been in charge of everything and impossible to work with. I gave them the lowest price I could, as it was my son and then she beat me down another $16,00. I gave in and accepted the lower offer against my better judgement. Then she was slow to get things moving. Finally I thought everything was coming to close when it…Continue

Summer is sure winding down fast, a couple of months and the fall weather will be hitting this area. On the whole we have had a pretty good Summer. I thank God that we don't get that unmerciful heat that some of you are getting.
I posted a picture yesterday on my page of an anniversary cake that I made for my cousin and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary. It seems to never fail that someone else always asks if I will make a cake for them. Yesterday a lady wanted me to make her a…Continue
Just stopping by to say hello. I trust your all having a great Summer, (in spite of the heat) in some areas. We are suppose to get in the high 80's tomorrow. Alright now, I can hear some of you who are experiencing triple didget temps. saying "poor you" in a very cynical tone. Actually I had to turn my ceiling fan off as I was getting chilly a few minutes ago. We are expecing a severe thunder storm this after noon.
My son is in the process of buying my house. I'm hoping it will go…Continue
I was awakened by loud thunder at 4:30 a.m.. Once awake, that's it, I'm up for the day. I got all my bags packed, (three, plus a small table), to take to guild. I am in the habit of taking what Mum used to call a "lazy man's load). Instead of taking three trips to the car I have to look like a "pack mule" taking off to the mountains for a month. Made my lunch. And off I went.( in a pouring down rain). Got to the church and had to set up a bunch of tables and run the extention cords for…Continue
I am not a "pack rat" but I would have a hard time convincing someone of that, if they should come by my house any time soon. I have been digging out closets & draws and everywhere else you might choose to put things. I have bagged up clothes that I have been holding onto (for when I lose weight). I have made up my mind that I will NEVER get back into a size 10. And if I do, I deserve to get a new wardrobe. Now, I think I have 3 things left in my closet. (just kidding). I have dragged…Continue
It's been awhile since I posted but I have been busy re-doing the dining room. I'm getting the house ready to put on the market. I have a realtor coming on Tues. to post it. No telling how long it will be before it sells. Houses are not moving to quickly in this neck of the woods.
I had a nice phone call from Katie Mlnarik from N. D. today. It's nice to hear from our QWU friends. Thank you Katie for the call. I enjoyed our chat.
I have hardly touched my sewing machines in Two…Continue
