A depressing moment at the LQS

I went out for coffee with my DD this morning at the Borders Book store. It's half way between where she works and goes to college at.  Being that we are both getting over the flu, things went as well as could be expected.  We decided to wander around the store for a while talking about things we keep forgetting to mention to each other. I've added her to my insurance at work so that she will have medical insurance now until she turns 26. Then she slaps me in the face with, "Mom, I'll be 26…

Sometimes I impress even myself!

The BF came home the other day and snapped my back, back into place and after work today this is what I got done on the new quilt.  Yes I am very impressed.  I love the colors and I wish you could see the block better but you get the idea.  Just incase the DD is checking in on me. No you don't get this quilt!!! … Continue

sneak peek time

Ok so it's not much of a sneak peek but this is as far as I've gotten on my new quilt so far. The pink has white and grey colors in it which matches perfectly to the grey with silver glitter  and the white. I threw the black in to give it contrast and I am falling in love with it already.  After two days of bending over the dinning table cutting material, this is what I have to show for my efforts.  When the back straightens out and I can see straight I'll start sewing all the  pieces…

Survey time

Good morning everyone

As many of you know I'm getting ready to open a website and offer patterns for sale on the quilts that I've been making.  I've been looking into a lot of web site hosts and such and one of the things I have been thinking about is the cost of sending a printed pattern to a customer or setting things up to have a download a pattern available at a lower cost.  So the question of the day is would you prefer to download a pattern after you have paid for it, or wait…

I've created a monster.... more or less

Ok she isn't exactly a monster, she is my daughter.  Having survived those formative years of her growing up, I now lerk in the background on her facebook page. Yes I lerk, how else am I suppose to know what she is up to. We have different schedules. I'm mornings, she's nights. Sometimes it's the only time we communicate. My daughter has been in college for the past few years for nursing program. Currently she is a CNA and works at the local hospital.  She loves her job on most days and has…

A first for me, sort of!

Good afternoon to all,  Yesterday I downloaded a pattern for tote bags from the CT web site.  Thats the first for me. I actually made the tote as well.  The BF's oldest daughter has a b-day this month and sence I was out spending his money, I thought what the heck I'll buy some material and made the tote for her at his expense.  He may have been a single dad but when it comes to girls and such, not a clue.  Cash in hand works wonders for the gas tank but my gift will last longer!  His…
