The BF who drives a semi truck had to go make a delivery this evening and I was lucky enough not to have to go with him. I offered but I was informed that the truck is a Bachelor pad so to speak. Ok I don't even wanna go there with that one.
So while he is out I finished up the quilt block I've been begun. Not to shabby!!! Ok so I really like it and the colors look good to me. One down and 31 more to make then I can start on the second block in the quilt.…Continue
Ok lets do some math here. I've added a picture of the quilt block that I'm working on now. The picture is of one half of the block. The material is from CT the Midnight Garden. This block design is from The quilter's album of patchwork patterns by Jinny Beyer. The pattern is called Dogwood from the 1930's. I made a few modifications to the design. The quilt will be a two block pattern. Having started this block I will do only one block at a time. So now to the math portion of all this. Both…Continue
So the story goes: last week I ran around looking for a few inches of material to finish the previous quilt up. I've gotten that in and have been working on finishing up that quilt. In the mean while I started the next quilt with the CT order of material from the Midnight Garden collection. I've designed my blocks, made the templates and have selected which material goes where. This quilt has a few more smaller pieces than I am use to working with, why I designed it that way I'll never know.…Continue
I got my other half of the material I ordered, yesterday. I've been trying to decide on the color combination that I wanted to use for the new pattern that I am working on. I'm going for that depression era look and I think that I got the right colors worked out.
I know the picture is small. These are from CT Midnight Garden collection. FYI, if you order the dark blue, be sure to rinse, wash, whatever, the dyes in the material took 9 rinses in… Continue
I got up and got ready to go in search of a little bit of material to finish my "Peppermint twist, candy, kisses" what ever you want to call it this morning and failed. Returned to original store to order said material and they will call me when it comes in.
This adventure was conducted in the company of my mom, who by her words, hadn't been out of the house sence the last time I took her to the doctors last week. Ok I can't complain too much about that. She was for the most part…Continue
Oppps I made a mistake. Some where I miss counted the blocks or I lost them. I am four blocks short on my quilt top but I have enough material to finish it. The BF and I debated the pattern and he thinks it looks too pink. I like it. The idea struck me one night and I went with it. He also pointed out that it should have a Valentines Day name as well. Now I'm sooooo confused AGAIN.…
I ordered material last week and it arrived today. I got a couple yards of the Galaxy- light indigo. This is beautiful material, I love it.
So back to the my man thing. We decided to go out to diner at a restaurant down the street from the house, on our way to see his parents. I intercepted the mail man with my package, the brown box was good but the CT tape dead give-away as to the contents. He wouldn't let me in the house to open the box. Refused to let me take it into the…Continue
So here I am just cooking along getting all my blocks trimed and pressed and then went to lay them out. So how did this happen??? I am exactly one and a half inches short. Well hopefully the fabric store still has the dark pink with dots.
