Good Afternoon to all. I just got home from work a couple hours ago and my order from CT was here today. I ordered the Jinny Beyer book The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns. OMG I love this book! I'll never be at a loss for design ideas again. The book is huge with tons of info. I like the Photograghs of the actual block designs and then she has the graphic line designs as well. For thoughs considering this book, I think it was well worth the price. The only problem I have is with the font… Continue

Hi to all. I've been talking to my niece in Utah over the past few days sence it was her birthday this month. She just had a little girl back in October and I've found a baby quilt pattern for her that I will be making. My niece also has a two year old boy. I asked her what it is that he likes, such as the cars, trucks, animals ect, to get an idea of what kind of quilt to make for him. Apparently he likes garbage trucks. I'm not really surprized by this, since mom lived with me off and on for… Continue

Pardon me for not saying Good Morning, but I find nothing good about getting up at 3 am. The other half is working over time for a while, or until the truck drivers at his company stop wrecking trailers, therefore we get up at this hour.
I've been reading the posts that everyone has put up, some with humor, some with: yep I've done that and as for the rotary cutter, yep I've done that too although not as seriously.
Thoughs of you who have read about my yorkie puppies, I've been told… Continue

Reward: Missin puppy. Last scene rounding the corner of the bed at a snails pace. Age : 3 weeks 4 days and several hours old. Color black and brown.
Oooppps never mind, found the little rascal hiding under the bed. Amazing that at her age she manages to get as far as she does considering the size of that tummy that she has.
Just an update for all of you as to the status of my last yorkie puppy. Jumbo as I call her is doing fine and she is getting curious about what is outside the… Continue

Happy holidays to all.
No I'm not ready for christmas. I did finish the over sized kingsize quilt. I have the baby quilt started on the longarm and it will get done for christmas. I need someone to go shopping for me!!!! LOL
For those of you following the puppy trail, I have lost another one. I have one female yorkie left. I have posted her picture on my page. She was the biggest one of the four. At three weeks old she seems to enjoy eating and sleeping. There have been a few times… Continue

Hello to all, I guess I'm not the only one moving sewing rooms. I wasn't the one doing the moving, my other half did it. This all began back in June. I was moved from one of our bedrooms to the garage where my longarm machine is located, his logic, I was all in one place.
Winter is here, I can't deal with being in a cold garage, no matter how appealing it is to the eye. So this past weekend while I was at work, my sewing room was moved again. I now occupy a bedroom and one half. The… Continue

I want to thank everyone for their condolences on the two puppies we lost. It is very hard to try so hard to help them and know in the back of my mind that it is a loosing battle. On to the "you are really going to laugh at this one".
I have the two pups left. A neighbor gave me small doggie bed. Sence mom didn't like the box. I moved them to the bed. This worked great, she could see who was coming and going and seems to work for her. As usual I have kept the dogs in the bedroom. We all… Continue

Another puppy update, I have two girls remaining. last night my little boy puppy with the pink feet died. I don't know why this happened to two of them. The only thing that I have been able to decide is that mom curls up so tightly around this babies that they can't get in to get their milk. Last night I put her on the bed with the two remaining girls and got the littlest one to feed. This was more of a chore than you would think. She is very protective of the babies and wants to lay on them.… Continue

I'd like to thank everyone for their notes on the arrival of the yorkie puppies. Sadly we have lost one of the little girls. I don't know what happened to her. I know that the mother dog as with many other animals can sence when there is something wrong with the baby and will not feed the baby. This one was a little different, mom was attentive to the end. We do still have the three other puppies and they appear to be very healthy.
And because life goes on, I have been in search of some… Continue

Ok it's my favorate saying when I have a problem. I just put the border on a quilt that I am making for my other half. He wanted to give it to his boss as it is one that they liked. I put the top on my king size bed and I do like the way it looks. The problem: I measured the darn thing and it is 10feet across and the length is 10 feet. I only have 10 foot poles for my longarm machine. I could probably get the quilt into the rack but I doubt that I would be able to get the machine out to the… Continue

good morning everyone, as requested I have put up a couple pics of my new sewing room on my page. I even put my pic in the box so you all can see what I look like instead of the yorkie. LOL
Not much going on today just hanging around the house working on my quilt as my vacation week winds down. Its been raining the last couple of days which we need so I am going to do some cutting and sewing and listen to the rain. Ok I'll probably end up taking a nap, the rain falling is very relaxing to… Continue

As some of you know I've been moved to the garage. I've been organizing my things and decided to spend a little time with my longarm machine. I have had this love -hate relationship with this machine. I love what it can do, but I hate that it hadn't been doing what it was suppose to. A few weeks ago I called the store and they arranged to have the techs come to the house instead of me once again bringing the machine to them. The guys showed up and I showed them how bad this machine was working.… Continue

Well for better or worse I have been moved out of what I called my sewing room. I have been relocated to the garage. I'm not really complaining you see because it is enclosed and panelled with a raised floor off the cement, the best part is that it is a double car garage. :)) I will forever be explaining to the man how in the world all my stuff would have fit in that little dinky bedroom. Now all I need to get is a TV and coffee pot, the other half wouldn't see me for months at a time. I have… Continue

Good evening from the land of the eternal heat wave, the pacific northwest.
I am hoping that someone out there has a Tin Lizzie longarm machine. I would really like to exchange information about the machine. I've only had mine sence December and it seems like all I do is take it to the store to be sent back to the shop. I am having a very difficult time with mine and I'm trying to figure out if its me or the machine!!!!!
Drop me a line, I check the blog everyday.

Earlier this month I posted about trying to make a circle larger than the plates I have on the shelf. The answer was the yard stick with a twist. My other half suggested getting a yard stick and drilling holes for the size of the circles I wanted. This of course lead to the discussion of adding the seam allowance ect, ect. Ok I got the yard stick, he went camping. Because of the injury to my shoulder, the yard stick sat on the table. He has now returned and eyed the yard stick all evening. A… Continue

Horay, the other half is off to work and then camping for the weekend!!!! Ok yes I will miss him but he just doesn't understand what it takes to make a quilt. I've tried to explain to him why I really do need to use the dinning room table while sewing, (he didn't go for the fact that it was closer to the coffee pot!). I am not real big on being in small rooms, and I've always used the dinning room table when making the quilt tops, he was warned about this when we were going out. Then there is… Continue

Congrads on the new family members both baby and puppy.
Ok time for thinking caps my friends. I recently posted a note about not being able to quilt because of a shoulder injury. The darn thing is taking way too long to heal, it doesn't help that I am also impatient. So I have decided to design my own quilt. I have the basic plan on paper. I am trying to make a template to scale of what I want. My problem currently is trying to draw circles that are larger than eight inches. I have… Continue

Hi to all. I just got on to see what everyone is doing and caught the pic of our little helpers. I couldn't help but laugh. Mine aren't the helpful kind (thank god). They wait for the finished project and then the test drive!!!! This is Ivy. I no sooner spread the quilt out to admire my handy work and there she was. The quilt is from one of the magazines I get and was made for my daughter. It is also the only one that I have been able to work on in… Continue

Happy fathers dad to those with that someone special. Ok today turned out to be more than my other half was expecting!! I work weekends while the other half has weekends off. Today he called at 11am or so to tell me his daughter had a baby. I thought this was great news once I realized this wasn't a practical joke. I was wrong. After two hours of calling back and forth I still hadn't been able to convience him to call his daughter at the hospital much less go see her. She's not married(Not a… Continue
