Since moving out to the country 20 years ago, I could probably count on one hand the number of times we've been visited by trick or treaters. The houses here are pretty spread out and the center of this one-street-light town is at the intersection of two busy state highways so it's not a good place for kids to go around on Halloween night. I imagine their parents drive them to a few places or else take them to some of the nearby villages that have sidewalks and houses are closer…

No not the CT fabric (although I hope to get some of that soon) but the start of my tomato canning for this year. I was lucky that it was cloudy and rainy today and therefore DC (dear cannine) didn't pester me too much for walks. I did take her for a couple of short ones but most of the time she just curled up for a nap. Lookout tonight then when she'll be ready to go!
