I added a few photos of some of my projects from the last couple years up to current WIPs.

How is everyone doing? Since my last post I inherited a serious quilters fabric stash. I've made a few quilts, currently quilting a sailboat quilt for my grandson who will soon be 5 yrs old. The youngest grandson will soon be 2 and is due a new quilt.
So many quilts on my round tuit list...
I have 3 quilt top wips in patterns I found on pintrest.
I am full time at the PD as night shift dispatcher. It's great because I can work on projects in my free time. That is… Continue

Life got a bit hectic shortly after my last post. But things are getting a little better now. My husband was declared legally blind on June 7th of this year due to a rare genetic eye disease called Retinitis pigmentosa. He can no longer drive and has applied for disability.
I'm training to be a dispatcher at the Stroud Police Dept. It's great because it's across the intersection from my house. I will be taking my OLETS certification test on Oct 12.
As for quilting, I go… Continue

I did get my socks knitted and I love them. No problems with the wool.
At Round House I serge the seat seam and inseam on jeans. I really like my job. I work with some wonderful people.
Now that we are home, we have a church home and that is great. We actually know people in the community not associated with trucking for the first time in 12 years, lol. And I love being home to participate in church activities.
Hope everyone is doing great and quilting away.
I'm working on… Continue

I figured out how to get the photo to my page with my phone of Brantleys quilt. I've almost got it quilted. Took a break for a couple days to let my finger rest from all the needle sticks, lol. The photo is in my gallery. I don't know how to post it in a blog with my phone.
I've had some sock yarn to knit myself a pair of socks, so that's what I've been doing. As a child I was allergic to wool. So all my life I've avoided it. I found some sock yarn that's only 50% wool. Thought I'd… Continue

I was reading my last post and the plans we had... Seemed like good plans, but all that changed July 16, 2014 when the steer tire blew and we wrecked. I had two broken arms, 4 broken ribs, left femur broken, chips missing on my lumbar vertebrae and ruptured spleen. They gave me quite a bit of blood and the Dr said it was iffy whether I'd pull through a couple times. William had seven broken ribs on his left side, dislocated shoulder and bruised his left femur. He had lumbar fractures too. We… Continue

William and I are doing well. Still trucking. Still teaming for now. We have ordered a new truck and when it comes in about June I will be driving it and William will drive this one for a year or so.
I'm sure looking forward to sleeping still and keeping my projects all spread out.
I'm sure there will be times I wish William was with me, but I will manage. I'm glad we have both recovered enough to drive solo again.
A good friend sent me a pic of a tatted butterfly asking if I… Continue

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
I have a quilt that mice have messed up the batting
before I got the binding on it. In a couple places
the batting is torn away even with the last
quilting line. So how can I fix the batting?
Thinking I may have to take the quilting out
so I can patch a piece of batting in with a whip
stitch. Otherwise I'm afraid it will bunch up on
both sides of that quilting line in those areas.
I'm really irritated, but… Continue

Wow, it's been a while since I posted. A lot has happened since I posted last, mostly good.
William came back to work in Dec of last year. He still has a lot of trouble with his knee. I do almost all the dropping and hooking and all the fueling. All the shopping while on the road and meal preparations. Sometimes I get really tired, but I am grateful I am able to do it. William does the shopping for the truck when we are home and sometimes we eat in the restraunt.
I knit on the truck.… Continue

Since I went back to work in Oct I have driven almost 16,000 miles. Most days I drive about 700 miles.
I am home for the second time, got home last night and will be home till Thursday or Friday. William is getting better but not quite able to pass a DOT physical yet.
I have so many projects I want to do I will be busy for a long time! I have an afghan I started knitting quite some time (years) ago I am working on again. I have all the fabric I need to make at… Continue

I reached my goal....all 3 quilts are finished. I'm working on an afghan for my DIL to give to her dad for Christmas. He is not well so she may give it to him early. She wants him to have something that will keep him warm and remind him he is loved.
The Dr took xrays and William is healing as expected for his type injuries. He said the surgeon did a good job. It will just take more time and therapy. Thank you so much for your prayers.
I am loading all my stuff in the truck tomorrow… Continue

I have several spools of hand quilting thread that is 8+ years old. Wondering what your thoughts are about using it. I figure if I am using fabric from my stash that is equally aged, it would be fine. No different than if the quilt was made 8+ yrs ago. Opinions are appreciated.

The dr did xrays and he said that the new bone growth and healing so soon is amazing. All I could say is "God is good". I don't know any other explaination. He gave me the ok to go back to work, so will be going soon.

Well, I am making good progress. Last Tuesday I drove the semi back from Tulsa.
Was able to climb in and out and climb on the catwalk to rack the air lines. No problem with pushing in the clutch. Haven't taken any pain med other than tylenol in about 3 weeks. Have a dr appt next Tuesday, going to ask him to rease me to go back to work. William isn't quite ready yet, so I won't go back on the road without him.
I am sewing the binding on one quilt and have a good start on getting… Continue

I came home July 2 and William came home the 13th. I didn't even know they were letting him out....he just showed up and suprized me. We are getting better. I walk slow but am able to walk short distances without a walker. William can walk some with a walker, but still uses a wheelchair for the most part. A PT comes to our house MWF for William. He's getting better.
We were able to buy a new truck so we have wheels to get out of the house and I'm able to drive and able to load… Continue

Things are really going good for me at home. My son and his dad went back to Tenn last Thursday. My neighbor comes over to check on me. I had talked to her a few times, but now is my chance to get to know her. She is really nice.
I have been hand piecing on one of my UFO's. Have made quite a bit of progress on it. Found out one of our bosses has a new granddaughter, so knitting a hat and socks for the baby for this winter. Then it's back to piecing. The peach/yellow/purple is… Continue

My son and his dad will be here Sunday to help get things ready for me to go home and be able to function. They are letting me go home Monday morning. It's a happy/nervous feeling, like entering the unknown... But I am putting my trust in God that I will be fine. I am so grateful they will be staying for about a week, so I will have time to adapt to home while I have help before I go it alone. William probably won't be able to go home for about 2 or 3 more weeks. Monday I will get to… Continue
