This is the latest project I did for the Gifty Galore group. I used our Indigo Patchwork fabrics. It was a lot of fun!
The ‘sweet & simple’ part of the name is remarkably accurate. Everyone who has seen it has… Continue

This project comes from the book Seasons & Reasons to Celebrate.
I collect nativities and thought the one in this book was adorable. Then the idea to take Jesus in the manger and make a Christmas pin popped into my head!… Continue

I’ve finished my quilt top made from the Makenzie’s Wish Baby Quilt Brown Kit
and it is definitely one of my favorite quilts I have ever done! I love the soft but cheery colors of our Sunny Day Flannel collection and combined with Kristin’s design of fun pinwheels and flower appliqué it makes me think spring every time I look at it (and goodness knows I need something spring-like to… Continue

Do you have friends who make you laugh? I’m not talking about a polite chuckle. I’m talking about laughing so hard you cross your legs, your stomach hurts, your hands sweat, you cry until your glasses steam up and your nose runs. Laughter that leaves you unable to talk and gasping for breath. THAT kind of laughter. Do you? I hope so! Here at work there are a couple people who can do that to me. I’m blessed by my friends.
Last night we had our sew night after work. Who would have… Continue

Most everyone has probably already figured this out but it never occurred to me until I wanted to find a photo. So, if you haven't thought of it please learn from my experience:
We have A LOT of beautiful quilts that flash by on the slideshow on the main page. Every once in awhile I click on one to get a better look. Well, I just spent the last three evenings going through pages and pages of photos looking for a quilt I remembered seeing, oh, probably a month ago. We're approaching… Continue

Right now my sewing machine lives in my cube at work.
I don’t have a place at home where I can sew anymore. I voluntarily gave up my sewing room so my husband would have "a study". He’s a teacher working on his National Board Certification and really needed a place to call his own.
Fortunately for me we have “craft nights” here where we can stay after work and enjoy the camaraderie of others while attempting to actually accomplish something on our projects—whether they’re… Continue

This year for our secret Santa in the office I drew Judy's name. Around that same time she asked me if I wanted to sew the photography sample of the Cup Cozy Kit
, joking that when I was done I could give them to her. She had no idea that I had her name! I ended up giving her the heart cozy and kept the other for myself.

This doesn't have anything to do with quilting but it does have everything to do with Christmas Spirit so I hope you'll forgive the "off topic" post.
My youngest son is teaching English in Japan. He recently volunteered to play Santa at a kid's club in his area. He found white shoe polish worked to color his beard, eyebrows and sideburns. I think he makes a pretty convincing Santa. A few days after this picture was taken he went to a nighttime city event… Continue
