I am one of those people who tends to volunteer for things and then later asks myself- now why did I do that? I am so far behind on so much that I don't know where to start?! And then to boot, I pulled my back gardening and have been horizontal most of this last week! Talk about frustrated! But today I actually can sit up at the computer and am doing much better!
I never have posted about my guild retreat from 2 weeks ago. I had a great time! The other ladies are super and the… Continue

I know I've been MIA lately, but I'm back! I've been soooo busy that I don't know if I'm coming or going!!! I was at my guild retreat last weekend and had a lot of fun. Our workshop instructors were great and I learned alot. And yes, I now have 2 more projects! I won't get that much done now that the nice weather is here. I will be out riding my horses, gardening and of course, mowing my lawn. I need to make a summer sewing goal list, or else I won't get much accomplished. More later...

I finished my crazy quilt pin that I started at the Lancaster, PA show! Even though I'm not a crazy quilt person, I had so much fun with the pin. You really can't make a mistake!
And I'm almost done with cutting out my fabric for the guild retreat. I chose batiks and hope I will still like the combination once I start to sew it all together.
Once I'm done with that, I need to supervise my… Continue

I know it is bad of me to complain about the rain since come summer we will be doing the rain dance! We have had rain off and on (more on than off) for the last week and my lawn is knee deep! I was planning to mow it a little bit yesterday, and when I looked outside, it was pouring! I really need to do some mowing today, but it is so soggy. Erggg.... So instead I'm sitting here playing on the computer! I did sew a block on my pleated log cabin project that we will be doing at our guild retreat… Continue

Yes, it is monday again! I spent a very busy weekend here at the farm. The weather was and is gorgeous and I finished planting one garden, and need to work on the next one.
I also spent considerable time helping my husband package up medications to send to a small town in Haiti. He is physician and recently formed a non-profit foundation to take care of the medical needs of the people of Fond Pierre, Haiti. He has been working incredibly hard along with his volunteers to raise money… Continue

Where has a week gone? I guess I have been bogged down with outside work. We have had alot of rain and the grass has really grown. I have quite a bit to cut, so that keeps me busy. Then, my daughter and I planted most of our vegetable garden. That has really been fun.
I have been trying to finish up 2 projects- one is my rag quilt. I know, I've been blogging about it for awhile, but it is coming together. Then there is the little teapot project. That one is also coming together, but… Continue

Oh I stayed up way too late working on my little teapots. I took a class recently with Susan Cleveland on mitering, and I am having soooo much fun! I am determined to get this project done BEFORE I start another one! I have 2 teapots to go and then I need to think about the sashing. I've fallen in love with Thimbleberries fabric. Somehow, that is all I picked to this project. I've been sewing with my new little featherweight, and absolutely love it! Who could tell that it is a 1938 model?!?!?

I am recovering from my houseful of Easter guests. I feel certain that today will be a day filled with physical energy!
I wanted to share what I found at a sale over the weekend.
I've always wanted a Singer Featherweight 221! I got lucky! It was a bit dirty and I had no idea if it would run. I couldn't wait to plug it in. And of course, it would run, but would not make a stitch! I knew I had to clean it all up and oil and… Continue

Well, I got so much done today! I fixed my tractor and my lawnmower which lead me to mowing the lawn. It really needed it (it was about a foot deep!). My helper came and weedeated for me and cut back some of my ornamental grasses. The outside looks so lovely. I love the spring- everything getting green and budding! I have 7 people comingon Friday for Easter and I wanted the place to look nice. Tomorrow I will tackle the dreaded vacuuming!!! I've already washed all the sheets, so I'm good there.… Continue
