Cowboys & Cell Phones

My men moved cows to cornstalks (winter feed in these parts) this morning. They saddled up before daylight and were back at the house around 1:30 for dinner. It was a long drive, but the day was cool enough to keep the cows from overheating and warm enough not to freeze out the guys on horseback. Easy Keeper

In ranch terminology an "easy keeper" is usually referred to as a cow or heifer who requires little or no attention. She has a calf each year, calves on her own, takes good care of it, is a good milker, is healthy, maintains her flesh (doesn't get thin) in winter, etc. She's not a fence crawler or wild.
