Bridal Shower Gift

Just finished up my niece's bridal shower gift this afternoon/evening. Just in time, because the shower is Saturday. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. The white fabric has tonal snowflakes that catch the light. The ice blue is a Fairy Frost fabric. The outer border is white with silvery airbrushed-like snowflakes. I'm not all that "into" sparkly, but I think she'll like it and it was a good way to use up some unusual fat quarters. I really drug my feet on whether or not to turn it… Continue

Casserole carrier

Here is a quilted casserole carrier made from a free pattern. I don't like that the inside flaps do not meet in the middle. It seems to me that heat will escape. (When you are as far away from town as what we are, it makes a difference.) I think a towel will still need to be laid in here to keep things warm. If I were to make it again, I'd change the pattern so those flaps overlap and use a velcro closure or modify the ties. I do like the little spoon pocket, though and it was a fun way to use… Continue

I actually went to town on Friday and made a quick stop at the quilt shop for Pellon fleece to support my newly acquired tote-making habit. This was my couldn't-leave-the-store-without-it find.
