A lot of my new friends asked questions about South Africa. We have a beautiful country and I would love to show you some of the wonderful places...
We visited one of the lesser known jewels of South Africa in December 2008. A beautiful village high in the mountains in the Eastern Cape. Hoggsback. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Only a small problem... to get there...

Money can't buy happiness... some things in life are priceless!
- When I greet my hubby and boys at the door on their way to work and school, and I realize I have a few hours to myself which I can spend quilting!
- Of course when they return in the afternoon, saying..."we're hungry, Mamma, what do we eat?... Again - Priceless!
I find a few other things priceless as… Continue

This morning I decided as the weather is changing into Spring, it is time to clean my sewing room! We have a small kind of granny flat at the back of our house and a few years ago Leon helped me to change the "lounge" of this flatlet into a sewing room. (We actually gave the flat a name - "Die Tortelduif", meaning "The Turtle Dove" as in Potchefstroom you find lots of turtle doves and you are always aware of their sound). I have a song in my heart! I have lots and lots of reason to be thankful for but this morning my cup overflows for two reasons:

Here we are at the beautiful guesthouse where our family stayed Saturday night. It's me, Leon my dear… Continue

I am so excited! I attend a quilt class tonight. It is for beginners, it's a wall hanging with lots of appliques called "country lane". I hope we start with one of the blocks I love - a cute little country house ...I think rather typical South African. Hubby and sons will be left on their own from 18:00 - 21:00.
