here is a pic of my halloween costume this year. i purchased some white felt, folded it in half. cut a hole for my head in the middle. stitched around the opening to prevent stretching. i added some ribbon ties on the sides. i painted 4" styrofoam balls in pastel colors, let them dry and then cut them in half with a serrated knife. i used a glue gun to attach them to the front of the costume. i put just a few on the back and sponge painted the other circles as if someone had eaten them off the… Continue

Re: WHO pandemic alert is now 5
It's crazy!!! Swine Flu Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
Just take care of yourself, make sure you have bottled water, batteries and all

thank u to this site for reconnecting me with people who i met 43 years ago. because of my blog post asking if anyone here attended or knew of someone who attended the sahuaro school for asthmatic children, someone found me. when i was 8 years old, i was sent to tucson, arizona to attend a boarding school for asthmatics along with 75 other very sick children. between the ages of 6 to 8 years of age, i was given the last rites on four occasions. my parents made a difficult decision to send me… Continue

my 21-year-old daughter took irish stepdancing classes for 11 years, went off to college and gave it up. she is home on spring break and agreed that if the dress still fit, she would perform today at various venues. it fit and she had a ball; it was like she never left it. i guess it's like riding a bike.

wish me luck, i have entered a quilt in an online contest at http://beesquarefabrics.blogspot.com/
it is just 15.5 inches square. i wasn't sure i would qualify because i asked the "experts" on hgtv what they thought and one gal basically said "That's a cute block but I'd never consider it a miniature. A miniature has to have several blocks, all very small, a reduced quilt from a standard one. I consider that a WH, not a mini or… Continue

i been piecing together this celtic quilt which was featured in the May issue
of Quick Quilts. My daughter did irish stepdancing for 11 years and i was drawn to the celtic knots. i haven't sewn it together yet but i think the batik fabrics just lend itself to the design.
