I had never expected the supportiveness I have received since joining this site, there are no people here to put you down if your quilt isn't up to pare and this family of quilter's is always there to lend a hand when needed. I just wish I were as good as you all make me feel. My daughter's first quilt was a success and I am hoping I can do it justice with the quilting of it. She is so proud of her accomplishment, she is planning her next quilt (a baby rag quilt). I think if this one is as… Continue

got my daughter quilting and this is her first quilt. I think she did a great job and only took her three days to complete the top. Mom will be quilting the quilt as that will be too much to throw at her right now.

As most of you know I purchased a new van a couple of months ago. Used and of course used always presents some problems. I had intended to use this vehicle for the upcoming PaDucah quilt show and just last Sunday my van decided to give me some problems. The water pump gave out as I was entering the highway and in the process took out the timing chain, which then took out my engine. So now I have to buy a new vehicle or get a new engine, timing chain, water pump and all that goes along with it.… Continue

Just got back from purchasing my fabric for my Civil War block exchange. Busting at the seams to get started. Those of you who are still looking for a swap to join, I still have openings available. Just send me a note and we can add you now or even later after the start of Feb 1. We have six months to complete 30 nine inch blocks, so let's get quilting.

Hey to all my fellow quilter's here. I am putting in an appeal for participants for my Block Swap made from Civil War fabrics. In need of 25 people to make this a success. And, from there I hope to start a BOM surprise quilt. My idea is too give each participant directions for one block each month and by end of year have a quilt completed. But that is just formulating in my head now. Come join my group and get going. Thanks for all who have previously supported me. Debra

Almost done making my blocks for this swap, then it is making the "Siggie" blocks to accompany them. Between this swap and my quilting tops, I find my day is always gone too quickly. Not enough hours to finish one project let alone the half dozen I am immersed in.

we're getting snow today, reports say of to 4" accummulation. An inch is to much for me. Have to say thou it gives me a reason to stay in my sewing mode. Get alot done, you know what I mean. Pinned up a quilt top yesterday and starting the quilting today. Snow is good for something.

Had a "Farmer's Wife Sampler," class this evening and my sister sneaked a sit-in. She was very impressed with the whole proceding and now wants to join. We have been doing this class for three months already so don''t know how she is going to finish the earlier blocks before the next meet, (if she is even allowed to join in so late.) Probably expects me to do them for her I bet.

I was all geared up to quilt today and was sitting at my quilt station when my sister called to insist I come help her cut and modify a quilt she found in a magazine. Would not take no for an answer, so I walked to her house spent my afternoon cutting fabric and really, really modifying that quilt design. All because she started to cut fabric before I got there and had it all screwed up. So I had to fix her screw up, she keeps this up I am going to quit helping her learn to quilt. She needs… Continue
