What in the world happened to the spring? Not real sure we had one down here in northwest Florida. The month of June came in with a heat wave and has never let up. So HOT and HUMID!!!! So basically I'm stuck staying inside in the A/C. So thankful for air conditioning. If I could meet the person who invented A/C, I would have to do something really special for them. Maybe make them one of Paula Deen's Banana Split Icecream Cakes. So yummmmmm! Anyway, I was going to make a quilt this… Continue

I have to admit, I haven't done much quilting lately. Been working on small, quick projects to give as gifts. I will admit though that my New Year's Resolution is to do more quilting. Get some bigger projects done. Hope all of you have been enjoying the Christmas Season. Merry Christmas… Continue

This is just the URL for the trail in western North Carolina. There are quilt trails all through the Appalachian Mountains as well as Ohio.

A couple of weekends ago, my sister and I drove the Quilt Trail through Yancey County, NC and up into Johnson City, Tn. We also visited a few quilt shops where I took pictures of quilts hanging in their stores. Hope you enjoy the pics and especially the quilt squares on barns and buildings.

Good morning and Happy Birthday to all of you who have birthdays today! May every day of your life be blessed and filled with happiness. I hope you all receive lots of layer cakes, jelly rolls and turnovers for gifts. (You know, the really low fat kind) LOL Of course, I wouldn't mind receiving quilter's candy either. Continue

So hard to believe that August has begun. This year is going by so quickly. Time for me to really buckle down now and work on my Christmas sewing. Just finished a small table topper for my mom. The image is uploaded in my photos. It is dark red, blue, cream. She liked it so much she wants me to make a matching table runner for her buffet. She even bought the pattern and fabric, so, I guess that will be my next project. Having such a large immediate family and then extended… Continue

I know that April showers is supposed to bring May flowers, but what if you get all the rain in March? Just too much, too much rain. So, since I'm limited to staying inside, I have no choice but to go to the computer, check into Connecting Threads and pick out quilt kits, fabric, batting, etc., etc. It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it. At least that is what I told my husband. Can't work in the flower beds, so, I HAVE TO check out what is going on at Connecting Threads. Sounds logical… Continue

I've been waiting all day for it to happen and finally about 12:30 to 1 p.m. the snow came. It only lasted 10 minutes, but it was fun to watch while it lasted. I live in Milton, FL which is just about 25 miles east of Pensacola and about 30 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. Everything got shut down here in Santa Rosa County; schools, business, etc. Well, now that the excitement is all over, I guess I'll go quilt for a while. Blessings to you all.

Good morning everyone. I spent some time looking at some of the photos that have been posted of either finished quilts, quilts in progress or blocks. Wow!! Ya'll are such an inspiration! Makes me want to lock myself in my sewing room and get some quilting done. As my three girls were growing up, I used to drag through every fabric and quilt store because I loved to look at, touch, and think about what I could make next. Since they are all grown now, they still tease me about the fabric stores.… Continue
