It's hard for me to get back in the groove after the Holidays. It's been that way since my mom passed away in 1998. Hard to believe she's been gone this long. Mom wasn't a crafty person - she loved that kind of thing but, with 4 kids and no one to teach her, she really never learned how to do things. Think of all the wonderful inspirational things we have these days.
Since I don't seem to be able to keep this blog current, I guess that writing a book isn't going to happen. Funny - I think I had the same problem with keeping a diary when I was a teenager. Even though I'm frequently told I should write a book, I think I'd have to just tell stories and let someone else write it. Really! There would be some very interesting and different chapters.

How NOT to change a light bulb.
Lady, Shut UP!
What is wrong with the world? I just don't understand why so many people seem to think we need more than one winter in our lifetime! Last year was enough for me. I know, I know - you're probably thinking I'm an idiot and if I don't like it, why not move? Please! Someone send me the money to do that and I will!! I'm just not ready for this to come around again. On the plus side, believe it or not, I'm pretty ready for Christmas. Only a few people to do for and they're almost done. Just got to…Continue
Old Man Winter needs to DIE! He has been around long enough and I'm so thoroughly sick of him that I'm resorting to this plan of action. Who's with me? As for the groundhog...well, let's just say that if the coyotes don't get him, I'm going to borrow DH's shotgun.
I'm finally back to work and again I wish I'd married a rich man - Darn it all! I suppose I can say that I've been able to travel...on Uncle Sam's dime anyway. I suppose I can also say I've gained a measure of cultural enlightenment that I might not have been able to otherwise. I must say that I've met a great many people from all parts of the world and found my place in it to be a much better one. I can also say that I've also gained a much better appreciation for the freedoms to be found…Continue
Halloween is over and the Christmas ads are already airing on TV. Amazing how it seems to get earlier and earlier each year. I think we're doing Thanksgiving at DBIL's home with his family and my MIL. Always a fun day but, with dementia, dealing with DMIL can be difficult. I think we have a lot to be Thankful for this year:
I must admit, Fall is my favorite season; however, here in north central Ohio, it doesn't seem to last as long as it did when I was a kid growing up in Columbus. Now it seems as though the leaves all turn, fall, and blow away within the space of 2 weeks! My goodness - how times and memories change. I swear, sometimes the wind blows so hard here in the Fall, that I'm positive our leaves end up in Pennsylvania within a matter of minutes. Then, of course, as soon as they've all made it to…Continue
