Good morning all;
I hope that you all have had a wonderful New Year and a good start to the 2016 year. I wish you many blessings and joys albeit a little late now that spring is here.
I have had quite a roller coaster year so far, and as a result have been absent from my postings.
Sadly, my little sheltie, Koka got very sick in February with ear infections (vetted) and her issues mushroomed throughout the rest of the winter. She was diagnosed with many issues,…Continue

May the Christmas Season bring you peace, joy and happiness in the new year!
Meet "Kokapelli" or "Koka" for short. Our new addition to our family. She came to us via an internet search for shelties which led us to…Continue
I've tried to post in the new year with pictures of completed projects but the internet connection is so slow that I could complete another large quilt in the process. So you'll have to take my word for it that I did what I did and completed said projects w/o visual proof!
Yes, the holiday season was a busy one with other activities that address my musical interests. I participated in a local community chorus of 80 + voices with orchestra and handbells. It was an awesome concert…Continue
It is with great sadness to post this here. Pam Bono was a great light in the quilting world.
Good Morning my dear quilting friends;
Today is March 1st. The sun is shining and the day holds much promise because I'm going to a quilt show!
I've been working on two wall-hangings for spring. One is new from Quilts and More Spring 2014 called Welcome Home. (post a pics when fully completed).…Continue
Yes, he (Mr. Groundhog) did forecast 6 more weeks of winter and this week has the weatherman in a tizzy with pending snow storms, one bigger than the other. Kind of like pre-game entertainment in the weather industry. (sigh).
The deep freeze last week put me into the quilting frame of mind and I managed to complete a quilt top and then…Continue
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all readers of this fine media of Connecting Threads.
Update - finally moved into our home in Pennsy and I never want to leave it. It is up in the western part of the Pocono mountains and we've seen a lot…Continue
I thought that I'd post my two cents worth on how the economy has affected the closing of quilt shop businesses. I was intrigued by a previous post by another reader and the many responses. Always like to read other opinions. I posted the following in response to that previous post. I believe that this is a valuable discussion, so I invite others to also post.
There are hardly any LQS in Jersey. One must go across the borders of NY and PA to find anything decent. Yes,…Continue
I can't believe it! It's been several months since I checked in and wrote a post. So much has taken place that my quilting passion has been put on hold for several months.
Firstly, I won a couple of red ribbons on several quilts that I entered at the NJ State Fair, Sussex County Farm and Horse show! I was hoping for a couple of blue ribbons. Guess I'll have to work on techniques sighted in the comment cards. But I'm happy that I took home a few ribbons. I must remember that it isn't…Continue
Made for my hairdresser to give as a gift to a friend. I usually don't commit to make gifts for others to give.
But it's done.
Queen Lizzie 18 is at the shop. It pooped out just as I was completing this quilt. :-(
I bought a Brother 6700D sewing and embroidery machine~ Why???? I already have two others!
So now I took a class on making this embroidered table runner and have joined an embroidery club that meets once a month to explore embroidery on the machines.
Here is the project:
I just have to clip the little threads that join each of the flowers and…Continue
I just got my delivery of my Connecting Threads order.
WooHOO! Great selection of fabrics (as always) and I love the tote bag kits.
I need a change from quilting and embroidering and will enjoy making those tote bags. Such a nice variety.
Thanks for offering your special deals.
I hope all who are in the Midwest are safe while the tornados threaten your area. I pray for you and your families. Please stay safe.
I have been very busy completing projects and starting projects.
Below are a few of my accomplishments this spring.
This little gem is a 'request' gift for my hairdresser to give. I used my embroidery machine for the center design and satin stitched around the applique.
