I owe my mother........

It's a tad after Mother's Day, but needed to share this. I know that my mother and/or my grandmother has said each of these to me and my brother. In turn, I have imparted that wisdom on to my boys! :0)

> I Owe My Mother **************************************

> 1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE .

> "If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished

> 2. My mother taught me RELIGION.

Shabby scarf

Here's the website where I got the idea for my scarves. They were too long to post, so the website line is easier. Of course I've made many variations on this and if you try it, I'm sure that you will make it "your own" too. One tip that I can give with this-the instuctions tell you to use a spray adhesive on the wash away stabilizer. I used it on the first couple that I did, but had a heck of a time getting the sticky to wash out, so I don't use it any longer. I just pin the heck out of it and… Continue

gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales there arose such a number!

When I walked to the store (less a walk - more a… Continue

This sums it up!

> A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk 's office,

> Was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.

> She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

> "do you have a job or are you just a ...?"

> "Of course I have a job," snapped the woman.

New Group-Iowa Quilters

Hey everyone! Just wanted to encourage anyone in the state of Iowa and our fellow quilters from our border states to join our new group-Iowa Quilters. A couple of us have been chatting and thought it would be a fun way for us to get to know each other. We all know that the Midwest winters are like, but when spring finally arrives, (and it won't be too soon for me!) perhaps we could start and get together for some lunch and shophops in different parts of the state.

So join us. I've already… Continue

First time blogger

Hello to all the fellow quilters! I just joined and hoping to have some fun and maybe learn something along the way. I've only been quilting about 6 years, so I know I've got a lot to learn. I took a class over the summer by Paula Reid on machine trapunto, so it seems like I've been doing a lot of that lately. If anyone ever gets a chance to take her class or even view her Stuff and Fluff video, I highly recommend it! Her work is fantastic and she does everything on a regular sized sewing… Continue
