I hope you had a Spirit Led week, I know I did.
Monday was interesting. We had the solar eclipse to start the week. To end the week, there was a horribly destructive hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. And in between, I was an instructor.
But first, and update on my husband. The medication is working. He is able to sleep better and with less interruptions to go to the restroom.
We did not really get into the eclipse. We have both witnessed one in the past. Also, it was partly cloudy here and only going to have about 75% coverage.
During the week, my instructing came by working with my oldest grandson on driving! He is due to take his driving test today. Our oldest son asked if I would practice with him. So, after school each day, I took him to a large parking lot and we worked on the different types of parking a vehicle. Since I am the only one listed on insurance, he could not drive on the streets. He did fine.
Hurricane Harvey, is not directly affecting us as far as wind and rain. We have had a few light showers, though. Our son, Darren, his wife's dad lives west of Houston and refused to evacuate. They have been in contact with him (I do not know how). Right now Darren's wife's mother is staying with them in Plano caring for baby Daniel while they are at work. I know Chau's mom is really worried about her husband.
As far as the recovery from the hurricane, it will take years and years.
People may be asking why they did not have a mandatory evacuation. The last time Houston had a mandatory evacuation, The roads out of the area were so clogged, people ran out of gas in their vehicles and were stuck on the road for days. If they had done it this time, there is a good chance the same would have happened, but it would have been worse. The roads flooded this time, and a lot of lives would have drown because they were caught in traffic.
Please pray for south Texas and the hurricane victims and those called to respond. Many of those that have responded, have lost everything also, yet they are helping others instead of themselves.
I will be getting to sew this week, Happy Campers!
