Quilt With Us

Hello to everyone!! I have not been on QWU much these past few weeks.  Quiet has been my friend of late!!  I have been spending most of my time playing with these crazy, silly, funny, curious, loving puppies!!!!!  It sure didn't take them long to become best friends and the pitter patter of little feet go everywhere I go and then some!! I still miss Mr Man and Precious and have my moments but they will always live on in my heart!!  Christmas was quiet here, no visitors, just dh and myself.  We did go to our middle sons house on Christmas Eve and all the children and grandchildren were there and it was a very special day.  We gathered in his new home with his new wife and his 3 new stepdaughters as well as Drew and Brooke.  Our other 5 grandchildren were there and our great granddaughter.  Actually a pretty good day for the ending of 2012 because at the beginning of 2012, my son and his then wife had begun to have serious marital problems.  I did not write or post about any of this, because most of the time I was consoling my son daily on the phone.  By April he had moved in with us and stayed with us here though September with the children when they weren't with their mother.  In May he met a lady in divorce recovery whom he began dating that had 3 little girls who are now my step granddaughters!!!  What a difference a year can make!!!

We also had to help out financially as well.  What I really want to do at this point is shout out a Praise to God because only He alone could turn all of this around for good.  That scripture Romans 8 vs 28 has never been more real to me than it is now.  We had a little nest egg saved up early on last year and by the end of the year, late November, I had to have a colonoscopy and there went $513.00 and a week before Christmas dh's truck had some type of problem that cost $585.00.  Needless to say the nest egg was gone and Christmas had to be cut in half!.  Seemingly no one noticed but dh and myself and love was the greatest gift of all!!

A few days after the new year I went to the mailbox and there was a check in the mail for $513.00 sent to us saying that we had met our deductible and they were returning this money to us!!! Woopee!!  We were excited and gave God the Glory!! Now on to my next story

In 2001 my company went bankrupt and I lost my job.  I never went back to work after that.  I was owed 3 weeks pay that I never got!!  We were told that maybe someday we would get it when everything was ironed out with lawsuits, etc.  I told my husband that one day the money would come and he said, Linda you will never see that money.  Over these 11 years since, I have said over and over that one day the money would come and dh said, (Well you can guess what he said)   Today I was sewing on a quilt and dh came in with the mail and he started laughing.  Then he said, I never believed it, he was going on and on and I said, My money came didn't it???  He brought me the check into my sewing room and I said, I never doubted, I knew one day it would come.  First thing I did was get on my knees and thanked God and gave Him the Full Glory. But seeing my husbands face was priceless.  God is faithful, never doubt it!! This came at a time where we didn't have to have the money but it did so much for me spiritually!!  So much we seemed to lose last year, my son's marriage, our nest egg, our beloved dogs.  But God has given my son a new wife who seems to love him with all her heart, he is happy again, we are rebuilding our nest egg and we have two new furry friends to love.

I am believing with all my heart that 2013 will be a joyful year, with new beginnings.  I guess what God has taught me through all this, is don't lose heart, trust in Him and He will make all things new.  Crying only lasts for a night and joy comes in the morning!!!!

Having just lost my job of 25 years your story did my heart good today!  I have faith, but through these sad days saying goodbye to so many coworkers that have become like family I lost sight of that blind faith that all will be well in God's time.  Thanks for reminding me that He has a greater plan for all of us!  May 2013 continue to be a year of happiness andjoy for you and yours!  Cute pups!

Linda "Sue", It was wonderful to read your letter and realize that there is really so much good in this world of ours, if we would just "keep the Faith" !! God bless you and your honey and your darling new babies!!

God is great! He helps us get through the rough times of life and provides for our needs and beyond. So good to see your smiling face here again. I'm so happy for you and your family.

Linda...this could not have happened to a more deserving person. You are always helping and supporting others, it is your turn to receive. I also think, it will be a positive year. Keep the faith and good things happen!

What a wonderful testiment!  My faith my not be as deep as yours, but I have always had an upbeat approach to things in life.  I am a firm believer in the old saying "what goes around, comes around!" I have had friends call me a Polyanna, only seeing the good things.  But I don't care.  It has gotten me through the dark times.  So happy for the good things that have come into your life. Blessings to you for 2013!
