Today is mine and DH's 18th wedding anniversary. It sure doesn't seem like we've been married that long. On the other hand, I can't remember not being married. Which is pretty amazing considering I had pretty much decided I wouldn't ever get married (long story there). He was (still is) a pretty spectacular guy. He dragged me into photography, I suckered him into bicycling. We've survived a week long bicycling trip on a tandem (bicycle built for two) where as the lead he called all the shots (I still liked him after that trip). Multiple bicycle accidents that put one of us in the emergency room (my collarbone, his ribs). Him not being able to find a job for a year after he finished school. Multiple job transfers complete with real estate agents from... (well you know where). Juggling a dual career household with the care, feeding, and social calender of one daughter. To top it all off he's the one that encouraged me to take up quilting as a way to relax. He supports my quilt store habit with no complaint. Is interested in my fabric purchases, though I do often get the "what are you thinking" look. He enjoys seeing my quilts comes together. Even if he doesn't like them, he still appreciates the work that goes into them. Overall it's been a fun 18 years. I'm looking foward to the next 18!
