Quilt With Us

I'm making quilts for the kids for next Christmas and I finished one top this afternoon.  I think this is the first time ever that I have got anything done this early.  Usually I get into a slump after Christmas and lose a couple of months.  The girls love cats and my 4 year old dgs loves dogs.  Actually he thinks he's a dog.  Next I have to start on my dgd's first communion dress and veil so qulting will have to wait a little.

Love the quilt.  I am owned by 2 cats and a dog, and it's a good thing because they come into my sewing room to let me know when they are hungry or want to go out, otherwise I'd be glued to my sewing machine all evening.

I love it!  and i love it that your DGD thinks he's a dog.  My two children used to take turns being the dog when they were little b/c we didn't have one.  DH was convinced it was a guilt trip....I think it was hereditary--my older brother was a dog for a while when he was four.  My mother put a newspaper and his plate on the floor and he ate there for a week or two.  And then I had a friend whose daughter was an alligator for a long time--she was four too.  Hmmm.  There was a pattern a few years ago in Quilter's Newsletter--Gingham Dog and Calico cat--it had 11 dogs and 1 cat--all tesselating.  It's on my to-do list!

Can any of you give me ideas on how to quilt this?

Very cute, I love the cat fabric border.  I have to get cracking on Christmas presents.  I love those big blue ziplock bags for storing things I make early.  I can see through them and they hold allot.

Cute quilt.  That border is darling and is perfect for this quilt!  You're off to a good start.  I'm marking Shoni's DWR quilt top it is 1/3 done.  Quite a tedious process.  (sigh)  I've also been whipping up flannel burp cloths to put away for baby gifts.  Baby flannel prints are so cute!  I have a border to attach to a quilt that should have been done 2 years ago, and need to get a niece's graduation quilt basted & quilted.  I'll be anxious to see pictures of your next projects.
