Quilt With Us

A couple of weeks ago my sister proudly proclaimed she had done an extensive clean, sort and organization of her sewing room. I teased her that she could come do mine any time. Sure enough, she showed up yesterday at 9 am and we attacked my bombed out sewing room until 5:30 pm.  It is now so clean and beautiful I'm going to be scared to mess it up. Some of you would probably be appalled at some of the things I threw out but really, if I haven't used the fabric in the last 20 years, I really most likely never will and. My sister found a few treasures that she took home as they were more her style than mine. It was just so nice to actually get to spend a whole day with just her. We get so busy with work and other activities that it seems we never find time for each other. It was a day I'll treasure and am so glad we took the time!

Wow, great sister you have.  I envy sisters who have the same things in common.  I have two sisters but we never do anything together. Except when I take Jean to Bangor for drs. appointments.

Sounds like a great day of sister time and getting organized. The last few years I've lived near my sister so we've had time together that we had not for most of our married lives. Kind of fun.

I've gone through my stuff a few times and find fabrics I know I won't use  - my tastes have changed. Instead of them collecting dust it is good to share them with others who might get some great use from them!

What a bonus!  Sister time is precious enough, but to end up with an organized sewing room, too, would be awesome!

What a special time with your sister.  My sister lives too far away for us to be able to spend days together - I do miss her so.

I don't have any sisters, only brothers.  But I know what you mean about the treasure of spending one-on-one time with those we love.  For me, it is mom/daughter time, which I presume will be all the more precious now that my daughter is married.  Glad you had a great day with your sister - and ended up with a clean sewing room to boot!

What a wonderful way to spend the day.  I don't live near my sisters so I envy you for that.

There's never enough time to spend with those who make us laugh and cry all at the same time...glad you made time for it!!!
