Quilt With Us

I can't believe it but tomorrow we are looking at adding to the family. When Brandy was put to sleep I didn't think I would ever have another pet. However, a few months later and I can't stand the quiet of the house. I miss her sooo much and I know I can't replace her, but I just don't want to go without the pitter patter of paws any longer. At first I thought once we retired I'd look, then it was after a year, then it was after summer, then it was why wait? We are looking at a Shih-poo, a Yorkie-poo and a Cavapoo. We decided that it wouldn't be fair to get another poodle, they just couldn't live up to the standards that Brandy set, I don't think I really dealt with the whole empty nest once the boys left, because I still had her to take care of. Then when she was gone it hit me. After my husband, Lon & I made the decision I was so excited I had trouble sleeping. I'll post a photo after we get her. Cara

Cara, I understand completely. We have no children so our little dog was our baby. We lost Snoopy in about 93 and then Nimpkee in 2006 and now we have Snickers. Snickers is a Yorki-poo but definitely looks more poodle. I like you, could not stand no pitter, patter around the house. I lasted from Oct. to Feb. and that was only because we were flying home for Christmas. We got Snickers off the bulletin board at the local mall. Someone was selling him so we got him. It has been wonderful. I love having my little dog.

your Brandy will always have a place in your heart and memories, Brandy would want you to have another companion. I have a cockapoo from a humane society for 10 years, he was the best, he had cancer and died 2 months after the vet told us. I lasted about a 2 months without a companion, my hubby knew of a little dog that lived near a highway that was a runt, her name is peanut, so noone wanted her and she kept running away and feared she would get hit by a car, so went and got her, for about 6 months she was good, then started to run away, so went back to the same lady and she had a male pup that she had brought back as the people who had him moved and we adopted him, we named him buddy as a friend for peanut, so now have 2 rat terriers and love them both. they are totally differnt than my cockapoo henry, but fill the void henry left me. so do go find another pet to fill your void, you will never regret it. heres hoping your newest addition will give you as much joy as my 2 are to me now.

Not that I have money to spend on a pet at this time, but do any of these dogs aspire to "does not shed" like the poodle does? I am just wondering. I sure miss my poodle.

My DD has a Shih/Poodle that is such a sweet dog, she's brown and has curly hair and thinks she's a BIG dog. Good luck with your pick.
