Quilt With Us

I had a pretty good Spirit Led week last week.

I was able to quilt and bind the 'cross' quilt for baby Avery.  The batting for the large quilt is in the dryer to remove wrinkles from being in the packaging.  I hope to get the pinning done today.  (I am out of my spray adhesive).  I would have probably pinned it also.

On Avery, things are still looking real good for her.  Her parents have been told that at this point, they see no reason why she can't come home 3 to 7 days after birth.  No post delivery will be needed.  She will need surgery, but this allows her to grow and develop more.  She will probably need surgery at about 3 months of age.

I did appear for jury duty this morning and was excused.  We are to hear from the doctor office this week on where we go from here on my husband's prostate cancer.  The judge said she would pray and sent her blessings.

As far as the tests from last week on my husband, we praise the Lord that his bladder appears to be free of any signs of cancer.  We (he) saw that the prostate was so large it is pushing on his bladder.  I was able to stay in the room and view the screen as the test were administered.  They took 10 biopsies of his prostate!  It was quite interesting.

For my birthday my oldest son is sending me to a salon to get my hair cut (it is past my waist at this time), and my nails done.  All I really care about is my hair.  I keep it long and straight, but it is so long now that it is breaking off and thinning out.  It does that when it gets too long.  He is going to try to get the appointment for me and his fiance this week.  Probably Wednesday.  BTW, my birthday was in December.

So glad things are going well with the baby.  It sounds like she is being closely monitored, and in good hands.  Hope all goes well for your husband.

I'm glad to hear the news about Avery.  Will continue to pray for your hubby's cancer. I'm glad you got dismissed from jury duty. You don't need anymore on your plate right now to deal with.

Thank you Ally.  My husband refused to go to the dr for over 2 yrs.  His last PSA count was 131!  As you know, it should be around 4 at the most.

I will pray for you and your husband. Please pray for me and mine.

I have been considering closing the blog and just posting on the main sights of Newbie and E B's.  I do read all the posts on those sites.  But rarely comment or reply.

Baby Avery's arrival is up in the air.  The actual due date is March.  I do not know if it is early mid or late in the month.  BUT, the doctors are already saying that they will induce prior to actual due date.  Erica has to be in Dallas 3 to 5 days prior to delivery.  I do not know if it is prior to due date or prior to inducing.  Our son has told us that as soon as he knows anything, it will let us know.  The pregnancy has gone normal so far and there is little concern of that changing.  Erica is on weekly Dr. visits now.  That means a 70 mile one way trip to Dallas every week.  They have at least 3 different Drs. though, so it means instead of in and out of a visit, they are there all day.

The school that my son is asst principal of, is more or less paying for all the gas in their vehicle for these trips.  He works for an awesome school district. (He was the Asst. Principal of the year for the state of Texas!  (see article on my home page.

Carol we have missed you over at Embroidery Buddies. Just read your blog sorry to hear that your DH is having Protate cancer, my DH is also struggling with it but at the moment they are just keeping an eye on his numbers. He has just had stone removed from his kidney through his back. The large stone was blasted a year ago and had ended up into three stones fallen into the kidney. So once the stent is taken out in 6 wks we hope everything goes ahead.

When is the baby's due date? You'll have to come over and say hello.
