Quilt With Us

After reading, and commenting, on some other posts about personal stuff, I realized I haven't been keeping up myself.  There are days, honestly, I just get sick of writing!  Anyway, DH and I welcomed two little granddaughters into the family in recent times; one in August and the second one in mid October, she was born on our 29th wedding anniversary!  These are our first granddaughters, some of you may recall we already have five little grandsons.  The holidays are going to be quite busy this year, as our other two daughters are expecting little girls right around the New Year!  One daughter has been known to deliver weeks early, so we figure this baby may make her entrance before Christmas, and the other daughter had one pregnancy go over her due date and one early, so who knows about her?  Wouldn't it be something if they either shared the same birthday, or one was born on Christmas and the other on New Year's???

I've kept quite busy this year with quilting for customers. It goes in spurts, as sometimes I have much more business than other times, but other than that it's been good. I did pick up a few more out of state customers as well as local ones.  DH is picking up work here and there and I've been thinking about trying to sell some of my 'older' quilts really cheap; with all of the quilting I do, there is NO shortage of quilts within our family, I have given several away to charity and to be honest, I could use the room in my closets, as I doubt I plan on stopping quilting in the near future!

On the quilting front, I haven't done much of anything myself this year as far as my plan to learn new techniques... I have definitely noticed I need to know I have uninterrupted time to work on something new like that, something (time) that I may have to carve out for myself as a Christmas gift to me!  Other than that, I've been pretty busy making lots of quilts for the grandkids; not just the newborns, but ones for toddler beds and big boy beds, plus a new great niece!

Happy Quilting!

Those little cousins will all have so much fun together, being so close in age.  Congratulations on the new ones and the new ones to come.  Good to hear from you.

I'm so jealous of those granddaughters...not that I'd trade the boys...but we would've loved some pink in the family! I think it's nice the babies are close, they'll grow up together and have lots of memories at grandma's house!

Congratulations on the new Grands!  Isn't it fun to have little girls in the mix now?  Sounds busy there, but it's nice you took time to catch up here!

Congratulations on the new grandies Trudy.  Your family sounds like ours - lots of babies all born close together.
