A quilter in outer space without a sewing machine?

I don't know if anyone has read this yet but it sounded interesting. Personally if I can't have my sewing machine and iron, I don't know that I would go.

I hope her quilt gets lots of publicity.  I would love to see it.  My thoughts while reading the article was how is she going to thread that needle with the thread moving.  Another thought that hit me is, if she can't have scissors how is she going to cut these space clothes.  Thanks for sharing this story.

I just read it and it is interesting. I always like to take handwork along for those inevitable times of waiting. Might as well make them productive. The article said there would be discarded uniforms of all nations to use for fabric. I would be interested to see what she creates and to hear how she did it.
