Quilt With Us

DD is home on weekends from her camp job, but I didn't expect to spend much time with her (she has a very busy 19 yr old social life). But she surprised me by spending last night and most of today with me...an advanced celebration of my birthday (she'll be back at camp during my actual bday). She's got the crafty bug too, so we spent the morning in our jammies, playing with our food! I recently watched an episode of Quilting Arts where the artist used real fruits and veggies and fabric paint to create pretty stamped images. I used the technique to make Artist Trading Cards, and DD used it to paint a tshirt for a gift for a friend. We had a blast! Now I have to cut mine down and stitch them into cards. Who knew playing with food could be so much fun?!

Looks everyone is relaxing this holiday weekend. I dread the noise tonight - my kitties have not been happy this weekend from all the neighborhood fireworks - tonight will probably be much worse. If only I could give them kitty earplugs! Happy 4th everyone!

Karen, where are the pictures you took of you and your DD playing with food. Looking forward to seeing them.

I know that the fireworks are driving your poor kitties crazy BUT you are so lucky to be able to have them.It is illegal to have them in Alberta unless it is in a controlled setting. Our town can't afford to have them.It is only a half hour drive to the nearest city but they don't come on until after 11 so it makes it too late to go. Not complaining just thinking your lucky.
I'm glad you enjoyed your day with your DD. Daughters are great aren't they!

Karen, that sounds like the very best way to spend a Summer holiday. Indoors with your college girl and fun crafts. We watched the fireworks on TV, inside and with the A/C on and all the lights off. Beautiful!

Sew happy for you that you got time to spend with your DD. I hope mine calls tonight since it has been awhile since I have talked to her.
BTW, I got my book in Saturday's mail. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your off time.

Congradulations on the QT with DD. Mine lives 5 miles away and I hardly see her. In fact I'm lucky to get a text message once in a while. I can't blame her though. She is a full time nursing student and works at the local hospital as a CNA. I do catch up with her or rather what she's up to on FB. LOL No I'm not the kind of mom who puts her baby pic's on her Facebook walls, although, if she doesn't call soon I just might. :)

Karen it sounds like so much fun that you had with DD! I can't wait to see your ATC's. Maybe we will get to trade with each other at IQF in Long Beach!
