Quilt With Us

I don't know if it is the time of year or just a long-time love of warm and cozy fabrics, but I love flannel fabrics for quilts.  CTs new Mammoth Flannels are calling my name, but I just have too many projects waiting in the "unfinished" or "need to get started" pile to even consider buying MORE.  My brain knows this, but still those flannels tempt me...  If I were being productive, that might be one thing, but so far I've been stalled out now for well over a year.  Far, far too long at any rate.  I suppose I'd better get busy instead of spending time on the computer drooling over new fabric!

I caved!  Justified it by "remembering" I have a nephew graduating in the next year who will need a quilt.  Perfect!  :D

Don't you love it??!!  I'm constantly looking for the perfect "guy" quilt for DH.  He loves the quilts I've done with flannel backing.  I'm with the rest of the gals Merry Christmas to you from YOU!

Flannel is what I love best to make lap quits. Most of the ones that I sew for Project Linus are flannel to cuddle with and are so soft. I agree, buy the flannel for a gift from you to you. The day will come when you say, OH, I wish I had that CT Mommoth Flannel to make me a lap quilt. You'll be sorry if you don't. Merry Christmas!!!!

Now you've all gotten me wanting to try the Ultra Suede flannel, but first I have to make a flannel quilt out of some jelly roll strips from a friend of mine who passed away a year ago.  I need to do that to honor her, and keep her close.  PQ, when you get time, I hope you dive into starting a quilt.  I'm betting it will inspire you to keep going.

It is very expensive!..but worth it!..I got it at a small quilt store in our local mountains in Los Angeles...they had very little of it..I got a Christmas Theme of red and black.panel with matching border fabric...I talked to one of the Ohio Quilters, that found the fabric on line....you will love it!

Ultra Suede Flannel?  When you find out what it is, let me know!  The only thing I know (or thought I did) is that Ultra Suede is outside my budget!

Barbara:  That's why I come here.  I know you'll all "help" me justify my addiction.

Joan:  this time of year, all that fabric was probably on sale, so who could blame you for passing up great deals?  :)

Pam:  I have the red/black kit in my shopping cart...

BJ:  My husband shudders at the term "fabric collector."  He heard it in passing one day while I was watching a quilt show and he thought the term fit someone he knows well who also happens to live in his house, but shall remain nameless...ahem.

Kathy:  My heart picked up at your post.  Feeding the addiction.  I'd type more, but I'm off to look up ultra suede flannel...

I'm with Pam. Surely young Merrick could use a special quilt, flannel on both sides or just on the back, when he is snuggling with you and/or watching Sesame Street. I have never claimed to be a "good influence" on any quilter,
