I'm so proud of myself! This is especially important to know if you're a member of my UFO Quilt Along! I posted several days ago that I finished a Christmas wall hanging (sorry no picture), but I just finished another UFO! Love having time off!
This is an appliqued (hand) table runner from (ahem) June 2002 APQ designed by Kim Diehl. I started it soon after the magazine came out. Last month I finished the hand applique, but even that was no easy feat since I had pinned the leaves in place and two had fallen off. I had to find matching fabric, recut the pieces and then begin the finishing of the hand work. THEN it needed to be machine quilted. I drove to my parents house this weekend, where I often go to get sewing done without much distraction (except for my dad :) ). I not only machine quilted it Friday night, but on Saturday, I machine sewed down the binding. Note there are 12 (count 'em 12) mitered corners and 6 inner corners. And binding is my least favorite part of quilting, so I'm extra proud of myself! Where was Judy
when I needed her? She and I often swap tasks and binding is one of her favorite things!
The first pic makes it look small because I had to get far away to show it all, but once it's on my buffet, you can see how big it is.
Wahoo! Two UFO's done, now I can start something new!
