Quilt With Us

I haven't posted in a while due to my work travel schedule. Since the beginning of October I've been to Boston, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Jackson, Denver, and Sacramento. Next week it's Minneapolis AND THAT'S IT! At least for the for the rest of the year. It's been hardest on my son. When I'm home he keeps hugging me over and over saying he misses me. I keep telling myself that I'm in the home stretch.

After I get done posting here, I plan to go down to the girl cave and do a little piecing. My friends and I have been working on a Quilts of Valor quilt for several months now and I need to do some work on it. We have all the subunits pieced and I just need to put the blocks and sashing together. If I get some time, I'll post a picture of my progress later today. It's scrappy red, white, and blue and I hope I get it pieced and ready for quilting soon. I have some vacation time coming - the week of Thanksgiving, and the last two weeks of the year - so I am hoping it can be ready for quilting before the end of the year. Slow and steady I guess!

Gayle, my son is ten. My husband never makes me feel guilty, thank goodness. He's actually really good about it. (He's very domestic)

Jennifer, I know that it is irrelevant but just how old is your son. I am sure you told him how important the travel is to your job. Sometimes, it is not just our kids that make us feel guilty. My DH is good at that. I hope you will be able to get some sewing done and maybe even finish up that WIP.

Traveling for business is so grueling, your son will appreciate the sacrifice someday, when he may have to travel for his job. Moms are always feeling guilty about something. Your quilt sounds like a labor of love. Can't wait to see a picture!
