I've been working on this quilt for my daughter on and off for a couple of weeks and finally have it down to one last border to add then to sandwich and quilt it. At the moment I can't even think of the name of the pattern (which came out of a magazine) and am too lazy to get up and go see. lol But I've renamed the quilt to "Dance in the Stars". I thought that more appropriate because she will be leaving for basic training in January and I want her to know that in my eyes and her's she can and will be someone. She started crying when I showed her pictures of it (she's spending the summer with family) and I was on the phone with her when she say the photos. And of course I too started crying.
Usually I will stipple or large meander all my quilts on my Elna machine but with this one I have ordered a couple of stencils and I'm going to do her's different from everyone else's. The main stencil for the block is a double heart 12" and for the sashing I'm going to quilt in the ditch and for the borders I order a continuous heart. I do hope it comes out like I'm seeing it in my head!!! Will post pics when I have it all quilted, which will be a couple of weeks because I have 2 other quilts I have to start and finish by mid Sept... these are for ladies who are purchasing the quilts and both are wedding gifts.
Anyway below is a picture of Alexa's quilt top.. one is it without the finally border and the other is a pic with the last border just laid next to it.
