Quilt With Us

I just realized that I must live in an alternate quilting universe and sometimes when my alternate world and reality collide sometimes it hurts.I don't know where I get the ideas that projects I decide to take on are simple but usually about three quarters of the way through them reality hits and I am left standing dumbly trying to figure out what exactly I was thinking at the time I took the project. I must also have all the time in the "alternate" world to quilt to my hearts content because I keep taking on new projects before any of my old ones are finished. In the real world I work 10 hr days Monday through Thursday and my son only takes 2 naps a day Friday through Sunday which is when I have time to either clean the house or quilt. Obviously I won't be having any guests over any time soon! Even as I write this out I am thinking about going over to the other side of the building and taking on one more project because really the 4 I am currently working on and the 6 I have to work on in the next few weeks just isn't enough.....

Teri, let it go...life is too short and I think of all the time I've wasted doing stuff that just doesn't matter in the long run...son and hubby and you are the only top priority!!

Teri, there are many fellow inhabitants of that alternate universe and most of us get used to the "strange". Enjoy you baby first of all then attend to work and play.

don't be too hard on yourself. I have about 1111111 UFO's and I will tackle them gradually. A baby is your priority right now and they are only babies for awhile--and so time consuming............it gets better.........eventually you can sit for 5 minutes and just enjoy the little one.........:o)

If all of us quilter unite maybe we could convince the astronomers to give us a galaxy of our own - then suggest to NASA that they build space ships for us to go there to 'retire' when we feel like leaving Real World. Of course, it would seem like we were gone for only an hour, but we'd come back with gazillions of completed project, and we'd be meeting our 4th generation families - this has been my fantasy right along, that I have been chosen as a 'quilting astronaut' and demonstrate to the world that we could accomplish so much much more being in space. OK - wake up Aida, you've been reading too much sci-fi.

I vote for "go with the flow". As you well know, I'm right there with you in that alternate universe!

Oh yeah - maybe that means I'm a real quilter now!

Most quilters inhabit that alternate universe Teri :-) So just go with the flow or learn to say "no"!!!

I am ocassionally there, but then the universe plays a trick on me by unzipping the universe and I fall back hard into reality. It really, really hurts. But do you think I learn, oh no! I graduated from the school of hard knocks, but obviously I was not in the top 10%! LOL.

Yeah - I'm not alone. Well I had a sneaking suspicion I wasn't!
