Quilt With Us

I’ve been meaning to post on here for quite awhile and with Pam’s nudging, I’m finally posting!

For starters today is our 30th wedding anniversary.  A big milestone, and like with any marriage, we’ve had our ups and downs!  We didn’t really celebrate today other than getting high speed internet installed at our house.  We are in a rural area and were told by our old internet company that they will not be installing new lines and slow was as fast as it would go.  It’s a whole new world now!

I’ve been quilting quite a bit this winter and spring.  I made a quilt for each of my 3 sons and their wife/gfs for Christmas.  They gave me an early Christmas gift last year on Thanksgiving Day, a Kitchenaid!  I felt I needed to give them special Christmas gifts, so I made 3 quilts between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve! I also made a large (lap size) baby quilt for a former co-worker and I’ve just finished a quilt for my niece’s wedding.

I’ve retired from the school district, I miss the kids but not the headache of the job.  I thought I would substitute there, but DH said it’s not worth the hassle.  I’ve applied for some other part time jobs, but no luck so far.  I’ll just keep trying!

And finally, we’ve added a new addition to our house.  A border collie mix......he’s quite a handful, some days I take him for 2 or 3 walks.  He’s about 8 1/2 months now and I think we’re finally getting into a rhythm!  We had a border collie mix over 15 years ago and there is no comparison to the pup we have now.  He’s definitely keeping me on my toes.

i enjoy reading the posts and when I can I’ll post some pics of what I’m working on.

Good to hear from you! A new puppy is always a challenge! Would love to see some pictures of those quilts. Happy Anniversary! We celebrated 45 this year...have to have a few rough times to appreciate more good times! lol

A lot going on at your house, too!  Looking forward to seeing some pictures.  Good luck with the part-time job.  I'll bet there is something out there that you will enjoy.

Happy Anniversary, Sue and congratulations!  Thanks for posting.  It has been so nice catching up with folks we haven't heard from in awhile.
