Quilt With Us

Hello everyone.  I hope you had a Spirit Led week.

I am trying to help my husband in the yard.  We have a quarter acre in town, so it has to be kept 'neat'.  If it were in the country, I would not be as concerned about it.  If you know what I mean.  So, I spent several days in the flower gardens, weeding.  They look so good after the weeds are pulled, so the flowers can shine.

I also did some weaving.  I am almost finished with the garden banner.  After it comes off the loom, I will embroider on it.  I am having trouble on the design I want to put on it.  I am leaning toward a basket of flowers, but which one.

The problem is, the background (banner) is dark red.  I am not sure how well the red flowers will show up.

Of course, I do not have to have red flowers, I could do other colors.  So, what is your choice? Dark basket or light basket?

Daniel received his bunny earlier this week.  He and his parents were in Houston on Easter seeing his other grandparents.  Daniel's Uncle Kyle delivered the bunny for me.  Here are Daniel and his dad.

I think they both like the bunny.  If you look closely, you can see Mom taking the picture in the mirror behind them.  LOL

After a bunch of rain this weekend, I hope to get out in the gardens again this week.  I do not want the weeds to kill the flowers.  I also hope to finish the banner this week.

One thing I did miss this week was our prayer bible study.  Our prayer leader was very sick and cancelled at the last minute.

I hope everyone has a great Spirit Led week.

The '40 Women of the Bible' sounds interesting.   I have a book with that title or is it called the 'Women of the Bible'.  I will have to check and see.

I am not really interested in guilds.  I know they do a lot of good for communities.

I have a Tiger Lily and one Iris already blooming, Also marigolds, vinca, geraniums, begonias, roses, I don't remember all.  They started blooming last month.  Spring sprung too early this year.  I like neat and tidy also, but with 9 different gardens, it is hard to keep up.

What great smiles!  The bunny was a hit!

We've always liked to keep things looking neat and tidy - even if we're the only ones who see it.  We haven't planted flowers yet, but the early spring perennials (irises, tulips, daffodils) are blooming.  I'm in denial about the start of lawn-mowing season, but it is upon me.  :)

I've been sewing the binding down on a flannel baby quilt, and have another flannel quilt (graduation quilt) started.

The local quilt guild is hosting a "40 Women of the Bible" quilt presentation in a couple of weeks, but I'm afraid I'll not be able to attend.  It sounds interesting, though.

Thanks, Daniel is a cutie.  He was the one I was watching when my back went out.  My son is a cutie too, LOL.

I have been leaning toward the light basket also.  Just changing flower colors.

Daniel is sure a handsome boy.  His bunny turned out great.  My vote would be for the light basket, but change the color to either  a bright pink or a soft yellow.
